So, it's pretty hard to find jobs right now. All I've been doing is some minor volunteering and learning Python. I'm also applying this cycle. Is this a red flag?
I think everything depends on how you write it out. Any new hobbies? Did you start training for a marathon for example (just an example)?
 
I started learning Python since I see it being useful for healthcare informatics research in the future. Outside of that, I'm just staying active.

Time to turn lemons into lemonade. See if you could talk about how that could be useful to projects your interested in the future. See if you can volunteer a little bit, wherever you can.

It's such a crazy time right now that you're not expected to conquer the world in the meantime. Just make sure you have your pitch and are on brand when delivering it.
