I'm not too familiar with the accelerated programs but at my undergrad school, the applicants were not just a regular applicant; the dental school took two 7 year program students per cycle so they were only competing with themselves, and if they didn't get in, they just apply the year after as a "regular applicant" and are not considered a re-applicant. If you don't get in and will have to apply next cycle as a re-applicant, IMO I wouldn't even apply to the 7 year program and just wait a year and apply like a normal applicant. Dental school is getting more and more competitive and a whole extra year of good grades, extracurriculars, better LOR and volunteering could get you into a nice school and land a nice scholarship.

Your stats are pretty solid. Honestly, if this isn't the school that you really really want to attend for dental school and you don't think the program is a big advantage for you, then applying to others sounds like a good idea. Just be ready to answer, why didn't you stay in the program? When you interview other places.

I think it’s best to continue with your route and then come back next year to see what happened. Also........ I never heard of a 7-year program that only allows you to apply to ONLY their school? What kind of contract is this? Feel like you’re very mistaken that you’re only able to apply to their school. Dental schools don’t have a right to tell you where you can and can’t apply...

I’ve heard of people in these programs applying outside of the program and taking acceptance elsewhere. You’re a strong candidate from what you’ve told us, so you stand a great chance of getting acceptance outside of the program.
