You could try and shoot your shot if you have good grades and/or activities to report - not sure how effective it is but what do you have to lose?

Can someone explain the difference between sending it now vs. sending it in May? In both cases it'll be reviewed in May, correct? So what's the advantage in waiting to send it if it'll be attached to your file when being re-reviewed anyway in either case?

No guarantee that anyone will see it stapled to your file now. No reason to. In May, wait list movement begins, and then people start paying attention.

Yeah, while it may get stapled to your file, it may also get lost in the shuffle.

I matriculated at a place where I was accepted off the waitlist in June. I sent an update letter of intent, and the next day they pulled me off the waitlist. Coincidence? Maybe, but maybe it drew attention to my application as well at a more opportune time than so early in the application cycle.
