FAP and FAFSA are very different things. If you live with your parents and you are providing info on the FAFSA about your parents' income and expenses, then it is assumed that their money is paying for your food and shelter.
FAFSA is not counting $$ from parents but would like to know if your granny is sending you a fat check to help with expenses.
