School 1: University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry

OOS

Pros:
  • Cheaper (scholarship)
  • Good clinical reputation
  • Prior connections with a few classmates
  • Research opportunities
Cons:
  • High Cost of Living
  • Don't picture myself living in MO in the future
School 2: University of Minnesota
OOS
Pros:
  • Loved the faculty I had the chance to interact with
  • Location is awesome (Could see myself living in MN post dental school)
  • Research projects going in my area of interest + summer research program
  • Good clinical reputation
  • Students mentioned getting placed with jobs before they were out of school
Cons:
  • More expensive
  • Concerned about snowy weather + driving with my current 2wd car, would probably live close to school
Summary: I am leaning towards UMKC from a practical standpoint seeing as both schools are great. However, people I have been around know much less about Minnesota so I wanted to ask SDN's input because I am very impressed and excited about the school. Last decision to make. Thanks!
how much cheaper?

UMKC will be about 60% of the cost of UMN. Seems like a no brainer from a practical standpoint but I was a bit torn just because of how much I liked MN
it is a no brainer

and the cost of living in KC is not high as you stated in your OP...
