I've compled my test today. Not happy.AA-19, PAT-15. I know I was not that strong at PAT on my practice tests( I was scoring 17-18 on Crack PAT, 16 on Achiever). I had total 5 tests from Crack PAT, and 3 from Achiever). I guess, I still can retake in August, but will I be able to score higher on that section, or it's just wether you have that perceptial ability or not. My husband is super discouraging, and its really tough to be in that kind of environment. Another thing is financial- I just don't know if it's make sense to spend more money on study material-+ test fee, since every penny is counted... What do you think should I do ?

I can tell you the extra hundred or so on study materials is way way cheaper than having to reapply.

I am sorry you have a discouraging husband, you need to work through that first. Get marital counseling, read through Barron's DAT PAT section, KBB PAT section, do all 10 CDP tests, all Achiever PAT tests, read the strategies posted for PAT in this section, re-do the DAT when you feel ready. Consider buying the 2500 extra questions from Crack DAT. Some schools care a lot about PAT, don't let it keep you out! You can master it with lots of practice. Best of luck to you!
PS I would consider contacting Crack DAT and explaining your financial hardship and try and get an upgrade to a bigger version of their program for a reduced rate.

A 15 is unfortunately too low. I don't want to sound discouraging, but that is the truth. Definitely re-take.
As for perceptual ability, I suck at these things but with the right amount of practice I managed to get to a 23. Its not about innate ability. I did the 10 test CDP and all 7 Achiever tests (and a bunch of other PAT practice). Like others have said, it might suck to have to spend a couple hundred on more practice stuff and another 360 for the exam, but it beats a few thousand you'll spend reapplying if you don't get in.
As for discouraging influences, you just have to avoid it or resolve it. You have 3 months to prepare for the test so you'll definitely have a chance to be better prepared - both academically and mentally.

Thank you for your comments everybody! I indeed have decided that it is a good idea to give it another try in august. I will definitely purchase additional material, and try to nail on PAT. By the way, does applying in august put me at a great disadvantage?

I am glad you are doing it again. Applying in August may not be as good as applying in June, but it seemed like plenty of people got a lot of interviews that applied in August this past cycle. Plus, what are your other options? Just work with what you have and kick butt on the PAT this time!
