over saturation, there's already way too many dental schools open. We just had like 5 open just this year.

Yes, but why do we want to continue to lower the barrier of entry into a field that should maintain high standards? And as stated above, saturation is now a huge issue. Dental schools should be closing, not opening.

I can understand the comfort of knowing you have a higher chance of getting accepted. The problem is more dentists means more saturation and less pay for you when you finally do become a dentist. You'll achieve your dream of getting in to dental school just to start hearing "You ought to specialize. There are way less endodontists, OMS, dental anesthesiologists" etc etc etc
