Calm down! We were all young and stupid once, and this is really a nothing burger. As long as you own it you'll be fine.
You’re doing the right thing by getting clarification and preparing to disclose it transparently. Don’t let this overshadow how far you’ve come. I totally get why you’re feeling stressed about this, especially with how much you’ve put into building a strong application—but I genuinely don’t think this incident will taint your image in any significant way. You were barely 18/19!

I promise you we won't care at all. Please list it and simply say in a sentence that it was a mistake you won't repeat. Now focus your energy on writing great essays. Also, give your dog if you have one an extra treat tonight in honor of not having to worry about this.So I JUST remembered that during my freshman year, my roommate and I were written up for having beer cans and a third person in our dorm room. I had to write a 500-word essay on COVID and take an alcohol prevention course and the “case was closed.”
On the actual case form, it says “this is NOT part of your formal student conduct record” however I know that it will likely be on the Dean’s Certificate…?
Either way, I’m way too afraid to not report it then look like I’m trying to lie if it ends up being on there. I’ve emailed my dean’s office to see if that is the case.
I have a relatively strong application otherwise (4.0/520+) with some pretty good/normal ECs and now I’m just effing terrified that it’s going to hurt or affect my chances at my dream schools. It sucks because I’ve worked so hard for this and I feel like, even if it’s “minor” to adcoms, I can’t afford ANYthing that makes my application less appealing (because of how incredibly competitive it is these days). Ugh.
I think you may have to settle for Stanford Medical School. 😉So I JUST remembered that during my freshman year, my roommate and I were written up for having beer cans and a third person in our dorm room. Find out if your student conduct dean has this on your formal conduct record and for any language you need to use.So I JUST remembered that during my freshman year, my roommate and I were written up for having beer cans and a third person in our dorm room. Yes, we are aware that COVID-19 forced a lot of rather petty IA's.
