It's good that your reasons to become a doctor have become more mature and informed (that means they HAVE changed), but your application needs to support your purpose and show your readiness.

This advice is too extreme and one-size-fits-all. The approach you should take is to critically reevaluate your PS and decide how to make it better. That could be anything from minor edits to a total rewrite. The bar is generally higher for those with other clear deficiencies in their apps.
