As a diamond lover, and by this I mean I would marry a big beautiful diamond if the law allowed 😀 I think that you are not saying what you mean correctly. Ok the Karats of gold are much much different than the Carats of Diamond.
Karat- Means the purity of the metal, in this case it is gold, and that has nothing to do with size. You could have a strand of gold the size of a hair and it could be 22 Karat gold.
Carat- Means the unit of mass of a gem or diamond. So when you see a diamond, if it is very small then it has a low carat weight, if it is very big like my engagement ring then it has a high carat weight. I had to throw that in there because I love my engagement ring (2.5 Carat round cut diamond, breathtaking and very very expensive).
So when you say that you think it is too "blingy" the Karat of gold has nothing to do with how big it is, so you should be more specific like how many mm's is the band (the width of the band). Geez, I can tell you are all guys on here not knowing crap about the most beautiful stone ever, although it is over priced. You better start learning because when you meet a girl that you love the best way to her heart is through a huge diamond set in a beautiful setting. The last thing you want to do is walk into a jewelry store and have them pretty much bend you over and rape you with the ridiculous mark up on diamonds.
Oh and no you should not wear a huge gold ring, thats just weird unless you are married. Not saying that guys cant wear jewelry, and who knows they may not even notice it, but for an interview just keep it in your pocket.
