based on how this cycle is going so far, how likely is it that schools will continue to have interviews end of march/early april? I am lucky enough to have 1 acceptance so far so I want to spend these last few months traveling with family before starting school.

I have been hesitant to travel during this app cycle due to the fear of getting an II for a date during my trip and needing to cancel my trip/do interview while abroad/etc.

please advise, thanks!

If you already have an offer in hand, what other schools are you waiting for? If it is any of the newer schools, they might interview late, but that depends.

would love to hear back from my state schools. though…….. i am a CA resident 😭

i’m under the impression that the UCs are finishing up their interview cycle. but i’m holding on to that last bit of hope

Most schools will begin to wind down IIs near the end of this month and throughout February, with the last stragglers sending out their offers in Early march.

With respect to the CA schools, UC San Diego says they end at end of February, though Davis reported sending out offers into March and April (per MSAR)

good to know!! i’m currently on interview hold with UCSD. assuming the hold becomes an invite, it would probably be a date for february if that’s when they typically end their interview season?

That's what their website says anyways. So if it's still quiet by the 2nd half of Feb I wouldn't put a lot of thought into it.

There's no way to speculate definitively about how many seats are left at X vs. Y school. You would need to contact the particular school that you are interested in with a letter of interest + letter of intent and weigh that against potentially losing your acceptance (who knows, but it's a small world and weird things happen).

Congrats on your acceptance!

I wouldn't travel right now, if this is really important to you.
Just my $.02.

The answer to this is highly school specific, and so it's impossible to answer
