i alternate purely science days with, mostly non science days. doing at least 1 math destroyer a day, and 30/30/40 GC/ORGO/BIO from destroyer on the "non science days" and on the science days i do 100 gc/100 orgo from the destroyer plus whatever anki bio, cliffs, ect nonsense that eats at my soul. In these last almost 3 weeks, what do you wish you studied more or less?

wall, dont forget to do Topscore and the 2009 ADA Sample Test, before you take the real thing! I hear they're excellent predictors and will help you as well.

Spectroscopy. RC strategies (I barely studied for RC).

I also wish I had memorized every last detail of bio but that's kinda impossible.

This is good plan, I should follow this when I get to Destroyer, which is really soon!!! I guess you are repeating the destroyer. How many times?

ive gone through the bio maybe twice, but in total 'ive done the sciences about 4-5 times. ive taken every topscore twice and have done a fair deal of achiver but what a confidence buster. i am landing around 19 to science and 16-18 for reading (both in achiever) but i have a really low gpa, so im looking for one of those obnoxious scores. Has anyone done 5 steps to a 5 for AP chem, that book is crazy hard. much harder than destroyer or PR AP chem book

also, for the RC ive been doing what i guess is the kaplan method, writing keywords from the paragraphs next to the paragraph number. then from the questions it helps with search and destroy so i have a better idea of where to s&d first. anyone have sucsess with writing key words from the QUESTIONS first, then reading? im most worried about this section, i get consistent 20-21 with cdr and in topscore but much lower with achiever

You've got this in the bag, just keep trucking along with what you're already doing. I struggled with RC as well on Achiever, it totally killed my confidence. I also used the kaplan method in all of my practice tests, but the day of the real thing I decided to mix it up with S&D. It saved my life. I would recommend skimming over the first 3-5 questions before you even peek at the passage so you have something specific to look for when you're mapping out the paragraphs. Luckily my passages on the DAT were largely detail questions that catered to using S&D, but if you get a passage that asks a lot of tone questions then you might need to actually read the passage. You'll be able to decide which method to use by reading the first few questions and getting a feel for the passage. Good luck

thanks a lot, i'm definitely going to do some question reading first. Ive also been watching how it's made on pianos and u tube videos on cell signaling and medical ethics.

i just took the science part of the third achiever and got 20/18/20 i would be pleased but i want dental works/mr fantastik/ vitamin h20 type scores and they where dominating the achiever.

Crush this test wall. I feel as though I am in the same boat as you are, and hoping for the same things.

I second this. IR numbers and Kingdoms/Phylums. It is seemingly useless information...but you never know! You might get it on the test 😴

Thanks wall for posting that mnemonics thread!!! So many creative ones.

I'm sure you will do fine!! I look forward to hearing about your awesome scores after the exam 🙂

the mnemonics thread is so clutch. i have a monster sciences day planned tomorrow and i'm going to compile any mnemonics i make/ find and post em here. ive been trying to read up on medical ethics, bridges and pianos today, 👎 i have dreams of getting 7's and 6's, i might actually take the rest of the night and just do flash cards on the couch and hit a lil destroyer/beer

Hmm - honestly, I wish I'd spent a lot more time studying spectroscopy (IR and NMR). I definitely think that's what gave me my lowest science score (21 in O-Chem).

wall how long have you been studying already? just curious. im like a 1.5 months and what do you feel amde you improve? Im doing destroyer and kaplan subject tests and i still feel like im making silly mistakes (maybe my grasp of GC and OC is not quite there yet.)

any help would be appreciated.

ive been studying way too long 3+ months at 10 hours a day. the destroy id say was the best tool to gauge improvement from.

as far as ch19-21 go in campbells i've seen some posts about there being an unusual amount of questions on biotechnology's. should i be understanding the processes or be trying to understand more of a vast vocabulary of the techniques.

Hey wall...ur gonna KILL this test 😀

As far as the ch19-21 stuff goes I would treat it the same way as the orgo lab techniques (extraction, distillation, TLC etc.)

Just make a list of all the techniques (theres like 8-10 right?) and then a few notes on each. That should be enough.

btw I did NOT dominate the achiever but thx for thinkin I did 😉
I never got around to posting my scores until I got some questions about my practice tests recently and I got pretty much the same scores as u did on the third test for bio and chem

you did get a 30 for orgo on the first achiever haha you are a beast, I understand im not going to get 28's all the way around but i absolutely need a 25+ AA. 4 days left baby. If i am landing 20+ in RC for CDR and 20+ for top score reading but 15,17,16 for achiever can i break 19 for the real deal?

lol...that was just a fluke...I came back down to normal on my next test

I never did CDR or Topscore but Im SURE that those RCs are closer to the real thing than the monster that is achiever RC.

After i took the first achiever test i decided to try to do the PAT, QR and RC again before I checked my answers. That way i could see which answers i got wrong were because of the time factor and which i wouldve gotten wrong even with more time. My PAT and QR scores jumped but my RC went from 19 to 20. Basically I was already familiar with the passages and I only went up one point 👎 I say this to emphasize just how hard the achiever RC was for me. Not only were the passages loooong but the questions were also ALOT harder than on the real thing. I did 4 points better on my real DAT and i think for u it mite even be +5 or 6 👍

that support is clutch mr. F, i'm on my final drive of fine tuning now. i took a half day yesterday. put the top down and got some sun for the first time in a while. the day before the test i think im going to read everything about pianos, ethics and cell signaling i can. Seems like those readings are coming up a lot this month.

anyone memorize indicator colors for gen chem? achiever has a question just about which one would be best with no pka's given
