Hi,
So I am a recent college graduate, been working for a year and a half now...
First took mcat august 2013 self study 1 practice exam got a 22 ( PS 9 VR 5 BS 8)...
Retake May 2014 Got a 22 ( PS 8 VR 6 BS 8) after 5 months of studying because I work 40 hours a week too... Studying using sn2ed, used Kaplan on demand course to modify, also used TBR per Sn2ed, used TPR for more passages...
Here's why this is super confusing..
Kaplan test averages 33
AAMC AVERAGE 31
I postphrased every single exam... Timed myself too. I did everything. I know my material.
What in the world am I supposed to do? I'm extremely demoralized. I do want to matriculate 2015 so any suggestions are welcomed please. My application was set to go then I got my scores and I almost had a cardiac arrest.

less than a 10 in sciences suggests you lack the content. How are you analyzing after taking the test or practice passages? for a test, you got to spend atleast one day going over both the correct and wrong ones to make sure your thought process is correct and it's not guess. ya this may be annoying and time consuming but it's the only to bring up the score.

@radian313 How do you mean my passage questions? And what about AAMC? I'm not sure if i catch your drift.
@uvrsol Honestly this is baffling. I spent at least 4 hours postphrasing, rewritting the question, reason why i missed it and also explanations for the correct answers.
Here are my AAMC Scores... If anything I struggle with Verbal. Being a Slow reader and all, and English being my third language (nonetheless, this is no excuse).
AAMC 3-10/5/10
AAMC 4-12/6/10
AAMC 5-10/7/12
AAMC 7-13/6/10
AAMC 8-9/5/9 <---- this was one brutal exam.
AAMC 9-12/6/8
AAMC 10-12/6/13
AAMC 11- 13/11/12 <--- I was suprised at this entirely. Specifically the verbal score.

So if i was expecting something below a 10, i was expecting it to be a verbal score. So what do i do now? Im contemplating retaking in July so i can still apply this cycle... but then what change do i make other than working on verbal which i know. Its always the elephant in the room for me.
Thank you All.

is it test anxiety? how did you feel during the exam, right before the exam? you want to identify the problem before deciding what day to retake it cuz you cannot afford another low score..

are the scores you posted before you did your retake? if yes, the scores may be inflated cuz you have already done it.

is it timiing issue during the real deal? did you finish all sections?
if no, i would recommend buying Gold standard FLs (10 of them) and practice cuz they are very calculation heavy and will push to finish the exam on time.

tell me how you post phrase after taking full length?
It used to take me atleast 3-4 hours for EACH section after FL.

Man.. we all get butterflies. But i was confident when i came out of the exam. I knew I had put forth my best foot. And patiently awaited the scores. This is why I dont see what i could do differently that i didnt do, inorder to make it with a retake. This seriously blows.
I dont know if this is because everytime i studied or took my full lengths i did them at about 9 am, some in the afternoons on days i was off?
Pretty dissapointing given this is my second try and a third try is just really frowned upon.
I know my potential. And a 22 is not it.

I postphrased heavily on the questions i got wrong, using the kaplan method. I wrote down why i missed the question, tried to come up with an answer to the question before i read the explanations. I used a whole day after every exam to postphrase and then re-read my post phrase notes before every full length. I made a list of my weaknesses and answered more passages on those weaknesses. (this is where TPRH came into play).
My scores are before my retake. this is the first time i ever did the AAMC full lengths. the first time around all i did was AAMC 3 which well i obviously didnt remmember jack from because of how poorly i performed in it still.
