is strongpak like 1x1 genco return to warehouse for credits? or is it just sent to some mysterious place for destruction of hazardous substances? if it's sent for destruction and not to the warehouse, i'm guessing all the expired meds in amber vials has no value or credits? we have a lot of RTS vials expiring each month. this is a huge lost if no credits are given to them.

Unless you own the store, who cares? Strongpak is all for destruction.

I tell the techs to save stock bottles for expensive brand name stuff. Or flag the label on stock bottle. I have dug out a stock bottle for Rayos (extended release prednisone) from the trash before.

The contents of RTS vials can accidentally find themselves back in the stock container

this accident happened a lot in the past, and sometimes the root cause for having mix pills in that same container. we have an old pharmacist been around for 15 years doing that and i sometimes come across mix pills in a bottle. its hella annoying..

Next time the sup asks you to cover a shift at a busy store, take the meds in the rts vials and transfer them over to the busy store so they are more likely to be used there. Even mention it to your sup and they won't care.

As far as I know there is no 1x1 window for strongpak and you don't get money for anything that is sent to strongpak. I don't think there's much you can do about it unless your store is randomly putting people on ReadyFill or ordering expensive first fill drugs that you don't stock before talking to the patient.

also, if u toss the amber vials 1x1 expired to the genco warehouse return box, do they send amber vials back to the store, or give credits, ?
