Answer says it's C but why can't it be E? It's just the same thing but even better because the triangle is taken out in the middle.

Your goal in Keyholes is to find the smallest keyhole that the object can go through. The Alternative answers you picked are correct but out of all given choices they arent the SMALLEST ones. I had the same issue, until I figured it out from getting similar problems wrong.
