What do you guys suggest doing today and tomorrow? I am just going over ssome topics im not very comfortable with and plan on doing all of chad's OC and GC quizzes and review notes for those as well..does this sound like a good plan? What did you guys do 2 days prior to your exam? Thanks

Go through saved questions, go through uncertain destroyer questions, don't do all chsd's quizzes.. I think they are too basic.

Technically, you're not supposed to do ANYTHING related to the test the day before the exam. That would be tomorrow for you. However, if you're like me, you just can't keep your hands off doing old questions and stuff like that. So, since I could not resist, the day before my exam, I just READ over my notes. That's it. I did it up until lunch and then I just stopped. I wanted to give my brain a rest. This is important. In fact, the few days leading up to the exam, I realized that I either knew it or I didn't. The few days leading up were not the time for me to be learning new facts. It was 100% review. The week before this though, I did do all of Chad's again and poked around Destroyer.

With this said, do what is comfortable to you. Go in there with a good mindset. That's almost just as important as knowing the material. If you freak out, it WILL affect your score. I was able to go in there with a calm and collected mentality and just start taking it. Sure I was nervous but not to the point that my mind didn't function. Once the test begins, the world around you fades away and you are only focused on the single question at hand.

Oh, and when one section ends, FORGET ABOUT IT. That means that when the sciences are over, FORGET IT and focus ONLY on PAT (after all, you cannot go back and chance an answer in GC when you are in the middle of hole punching so what's the point of agonizing over a question from another section). When PAT is over, do the same thing. You need to completely remove any thoughts that you had about previous sections from your head before you move on to the next otherwise it will distract you.

Good luck.

This is good advice, but hard to follow through on sometimes. The last time I took my DAT I completely bombed the sciences because they were out of this world difficult and I wanted to cry during the break. I was so depressed going into the PAT that I ended up tanking this section as well (it was insanely hard too though). Honestly thinking back to that day still gives me nightmares, I couldn't believe how difficult every section was except for Bio and QR.

when did you take the test? which month?

That's also good to do. Me personally, I saved that activity for the day before but it doesn't matter when you do it.

Yeah it can be difficult, but it's worth a shot. I just had to tell myself that, "look, there is nothing you can do at this point so move on".

you know im okay with moving on with the next section. what im afraid of the most is losing it when i just start the test...

oh yay i hate to hear that! i hope this time is better.

some people claim that the tests get harder after summer. I wonder if that's true

It could be true. I first took it in August and it wasn't bad at all. I didn't have time to study for it though so I didn't do that well, and I ended up rushing into a retake so I could get in for that cycle thinking it would be just as easy. Big mistake

I hope that it truly is random though. I want to put it out of my mind because it's out of your control what type of exam you get, but that 2nd attempt really screwed with me

2 options:
A - Do nothing tomorrow and relax, sleep early and destroy the DAT!
B - work on topics that you're least comfortable with.

If I am correct, I don't believe you have taken it before. I felt this SAME way before each time I took the test. I took it for the first time in 2011 and a second time most recently in August of this year. You'll be surprised though, how literally, once you sit down and confirm your name and hit next and start to read the first bio question, everything, and I mean everything around you ceases to exist  . It's weird but it happened to me twice. I even remember saying to myself, "wow, I'm actually taking the DAT. For real this time!".

So true. I had a teeny weeny bit of nerves...but yes when I got to the screen and pressed begin...I prayed to God for like 4 seconds...and I was like LEGGOOOOOOOO ...mind went so focused...it was like an adrenaline rush I guess. Everything in my brain started pouring out sweet nectar and time went by SO FAST. I was like wtf 5 hours already?

hahaha thank you guys. I do feel prepared though (not a 100% but i think thats impossible?). I just hope I do well. I literally gave it my all while prepping.

dont be nervous..I was really nervous during mine..During my break I was so shaky because I knew that I kinda did bad..Be confident 🙂

good look man, looking forward to your breakdown because i know you're going to destroy this thing 👍
