Step II 2-digit score, reporting

OK, this has been discussed at length, I know.

I ordered (official) transcripts for the hell of it, and wouldn't you know it, the two-digit scores are in fact reported.

Can anyone elucidate on this? I was under the impression this ceased last year.

The announcement above says they no longer report the 2-digit score on ERAS, the residency application service.

They still give you a 2-digit score on the transcript because some state medical boards require it for licensing purposes, if I recall correctly.
