Currently pateints fast 2 hours prior VR Surgery.

I am looking into whether there is need for any fasting for LA.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks.

Seems like this should be an anesthesia question, not an ophtho question. From the ophthalmologic standpoint there shouldn't be any need for fasting prior to any eye surgery other than the fact that the patient will be in the supine position for an extended period of time(in VR surgery, not cataract). I don't know how many people are doing VR surgery under topical. If u are using "LA," which I'm assuming you mean laryngeal airway, then it is an anesthesia question.
