#1 how bad does a bad grade hurt assuming all other grades are good. I.E. I am a non trad returning to college, I got a 2.0 in bio back in 1996, but when I returned I got a 4.o in bio. Also, because of my wedding, it looks like my grade in this summer chem 2 will be bad, like a 3.0 or even a 2.5. How bad does this hurt me?

#2 Is a science gpa of 3.29 competitive considering working full time and going to school full time?

Heh heh...I got married toward the end of second semester orgo (evenings). I have memories of faxing in my problem set from the honeymoon resort 😎 , going to lab about 12 hours after getting back, and taking a makeup midterm like 2 days later. Actually, the wedding euphoria made me forget about all that hell. I ended up pulling an A- in the class.

But to answer your questions, you will still have to list the first bad grade, but if all your other grades (including the retake) are good, it shouldn't raise a flag. Also, a 3.3 science GPA sure beats mine, and I only worked part time, and I got into med school. Best of luck, and congrats on the wedding!
