Hey guys, I am retaking the mcat. I was curious whether I could do well with fulltime studying of two months?

Any of you that have studied for 2 months 40 hours a week definitely comment.

Oh another question, pretty sure this has been answered. But if you had to get four AAMC tests which ones would you purchase? Money tight that is why I ask.

2 months is ample time (one month content review + one month practice)

if you're going to buy four tests, i'd get 7,8,9,10

Whether two months is enough time depends on where you're coming from. If you scored in the high 20s, sure, it may be okay. If we're talking about low 20s or below, probably not.

The AAMC FLs you should get are 7-10 like JokerMD already posted. However, if you've already taken them, you MUST get new practice tests.

You can easily bust a 40 if you study full time for 2 months. 🙂 The reality is most people make these plans and don't follow through. From a medical school perspective the amount of information you can learn in 2 months is staggering.

Okay well I mean I did score in the low 20s only because I was studying with a full load of classes. For some reason I really feel that I can score around or above a 30. And I have taken the AAMC 7-10 but I will get them again. I have gold standard tests which I have not done so they will serve as new practice, and AAMC test really is just for me to get into the routine before th real deal. Sound good?

If you've already taken them they're no good. Buy the ones you haven't taken.

They're not "no good", but if you have taken them and it comes down to buying new ones it would probably be best to buy ones you haven't taken yet.

I always find it interesting that people think the exams are only good for one run through.

I would say 3 runs, but only really qualifying scores by the 1st and 2nd. Unless you're scoring 15's on the sections there is still more to learn. After 3 the juice probably isn't worth the squeeze though.

I'm sure people are going to bark in and say that I'm off my rocker, but I already knew that...

For me it's more of a timing issue. If you've already seen the passages you'll go through them much more quickly and end up with more time than you'd actually have on a test you've never seen before.

Possibly. But if you know you are finishing on time anyway then it doesn't matter.

1 free AAMC exam (#3)

7 AAMC's @ $35 ea (4-10)

k well my thing is I do have ten gold standards test I bought to practice. It has been over a year I have seen the AAMC. But I thought I would get a couple AAMC just to get into routine before the test I mean is that a bad thing. Who knows it might boost my confidence haha.

I studied for three months, but everyone varies. I suggest you buy all the AAMC tests, the investment is worth it.
