theyre both right.

but on a chad's quiz, it totally changed my answer....
for newman projections...
anyone take his quizzes? quiz 2 question 12
 
With newman projections always make sure you have the right number of carbons.
 
OP is confused about the newman projection question regarding this compound on chad's quiz.

His explanation is pretty easy to understand. Looking down the C-2 C-3 axis, the larger circle (C3) needs to have an ethyl substituent as well as 2 H's. The dot in the middle of the larger circle (C2) needs an OH, CH3, and H.

Take a look at it again, I didn't get that question right until I looked closer - stupid mistakes
