The Roger Williams Medical Center: Department of Dermatology and Skin Surgery has two open PGY-3 Positions available to being this July.
Our current PGY-2 Residents will be transferring at the end of the year and we will have these spots available.
Prerequisites include the successful completion of a PGY-1 preliminary year and a PGY-2 year in an ACGME accredited Preliminary year program and dermatology residency program respectively prior to the start date of July 1st 2014.
Our program has changed dramatically over the past year.
We have shifted away from a predominantly practice-based program to a more education-focused clinical teaching curriculum.
We have a new chairman, Dr. Thomas Runger, who is dedicated to recruiting academic practitioners that will make the education and training of residents a priority. He is also looking to re-start and expand our basic and clinical research activities.
We have both a dermatopathology and procedural dermatology fellowship affiliated with our residency.
Our department is in the early phases of restructuring and growing. We have recently separated from a Physicians Group and have become part of our main hospital to expand teaching opportunities.
