Okay, I'm sure the answers to these questions are in some thread somewhere but for some reason, I can't seem to find anything.

First, certain DO schools ask you to list all the other DO schools you are applying to and some also ask you to list all MD schools you are applying to. I was just wondering, if you didn't provide this information could they look it up using your SSN anyway?

Second, if you're applying for an SMP, is your GPA calculated the same way as AACOMAS calculates it? As in, if you retake a course only your most recent grade is factored in? I highly doubt it but just thought I'd ask. My science GPA is crazy low, like 2.6...and my cum GPA on AACOMAS is only a little above 3.0....so I thought maybe I'd look into SMPs but am not sure I'd even get into one 🙁

I will answer your first question. No school will look up your other schools applied to by your SSN. I believe this would be a violation of the privacy that you are afforded through AACOMAS. That being said, I have never heard of any school approaching AACOMAS with a SSN and demanding that all schools applied to be supplied to the demanding school.

Yeah, seems way too in-your-face. Thanks!

I agree with ahaydt for qustion #1. They will definitely not look up anything using your SSN.

As for question #2: I think it depends on the SMP. I retook a bunch of classes and my university replaced all my grades like AACOMAS does. Then when I applied and transfered to another school, they took my "new and improved" GPA including the retakes. It's probably best to contact the programs that you're interested in and ask them about their policy.

Good Luck :luck:
