Hello pals.

Two questions:

1. I applied very late and got 1 interview at all. If I ask the program for a pre-match position and they refused, do you think I should anyway apply for the match?

2. Are there live inteviews in the "scramble" or only a paperwork?

You have to apply for the match if you wish to scramble and in which case you should rank this program anyway. You should not ask for prematches, programs will offer them to you if they want. There are hundreds even thousands of IMGs who get no interviews and still register for the match in order to take part in the scramble.

This year there is the SOAP which replaces the scramble. You submit via ERAS your application to unfilled programs and if they wish to consider you they will interview you via skype/telephone. there are no in person interviews.
