Hi Everyone,

So I blitzed my stash of practice tests doing 7 in the last 8 days (4 achiever and 3 Topscore). Over the past month I have done CDP and CDR (10 test versions for both) and since I only have 2 weeks to go do any of you seasoned vets see any red flags? I am targeting like a 20-21 in all areas. Higher is always welcome of course, but a 21 would be enough to make me happy.

Specific questions:

1) PAT - Should I be worried? I did well on CDP (but it is easier right?). I did ok on Top Score (but even that is supposed to be easier right?). I did pretty terribly on Achiever. I am none to confident in my perceptual abilities I guess...it is just such a strange section. (BTW the awful 16 and 18 on CDP were the first two PAT tests I ever took...I wasted 4 minutes reading the instructions on Test 1 lol)

2) RC - Again should I be worried? I did well on CDP and Top Score (which are said to be easier) and terribly on Achiever.

3) Bio/GC - Well Bio has been consistently lower than 20 and that makes me a bit worried. GC has been borderline too so I am redoing Destoryer and Cliffs.
Now the worst scores (Achiever 4 and Top Score 3) don't surprise me since they were the last two tests I did and I was pretty tapped out by the time I did those. I feel very uncertain about Bio's randomness.

Thanks in advance for your help...though I am not exactly panicking, I am not exactly sitting pretty 😳.

EDIT: I should mention I still have 3 more achiever, the 2006/7 ADA, Kaplan online and I will be doing those in the 5 days I have off from work between now and the 19th (test day).

You're in good shape to do well on the DAT. 👍

Just work on your weak areas for one week, then on your strong areas for the last week + timing. Don't neglect any subjects leading up to the test. Keep working hard=)

Crack PAT is pretty similar. The general consensus is that keyholes are harder on the real DAT because Crack PAT focuses too much on the shape of the object, rather how wide or long it needs to be to fit through the hole.

On my version--keyholes + pattern folding harder, TFE same, cube counting & angles are easier.

Crack Reading QUESTIONS are pretty similar to the DAT too, except the content is more scientific, more biology-based like Topscore, but not overly dense as Topscore.

Bio can be random and straightforward. Gchem is similar to Topscore but calculations are more straightforward and easier. Some questions you have to induce though (especially in biology).

Topscore is not easier. It's a good representation of the DAT. To me, I felt the DAT was a bit easier than Topscore (but Topscore was easier on PAT/Reading).

Thanks for the tips. I definitely agree that I shouldn't neglect anything this close to the test. Like I said, I am definitely going to do Destroyer and Cliffs over again to be absolutely certain I am not missing key concepts etc.

For some reason I was under the impression that Top Score was much easier but I am little happier with my 19s and 18 in bio. The 16 in Achiever didn't bother me since I checked out the test and I made a couple stupid mistakes and Achiever is supposed to be insane.

My diagnostic tests gave me lower scores that what I actually got on the DAT. You scores look good. I wouldn'y be surprised if you score higher in the DAT than what any of your current diagnostic scores show. I worked the DAT Destroyer over the week before the test and I think it helped.

Glad to hear destroyer the week before was beneficial for you. At this point I am just crossing fingers and hope I don't get too many obscure questions in Bio. After redoing Destroyer Gen Chem over the last two days, I feel much better. I am going to revisit the Kaplan question bank Chem tests.

By the way, what did you find was the closes approximation of PAT and RC out of the materials you used?

SAME HERE! All my practice tests were pretty consistent-ish but always sub-spectacular (around 19/20 max) and then on the real thing I got AA & TS 24. So just use your practices to point out your mistakes but not as a benchmark for how well/poor you'll do. You're in awesome shape! Good luck

Wow 24s!!! that is amazing. Congrats!

Well like I said if I get 20s-21s on all subjects I am happy. I completely agree with you all that I shouldn't look at these as an estimate of my actual score.

Do you think you could be so nice to send me the Kaplan test bank questions you have? I did their first full length today and really liked how they answer the questions and the variety of topics asked, but my friend's account expires on the 26 of November. I'm in the practice portion of my studying. I'm taking my DAT early January. I already completed destroyer, and bootcamp but I feel like I still need more practice.. as you said on your breakdown.. Please Help :scared:😳

This thread is 4 years old...

:wow: True haha.😳 I noticed but I saw that he has been active this year.. Hopefully he sees my comment. I really need to get more practice problems from the kaplan practice tests. I'm doing qvault as well, but I really like how they explain the answer choices. Any practice is good.
