I need to do pretty well on the physiology shelf exam. Assume that I'm not a physio whiz. Is it reasonable to do well after 2 weeks of focused study? For those who recently took the shelf, what materials will have a concise version of what I need to know and what practice problems are highest yield? Thanks in advance!

You'll likely have enough time. I finished BRS physio in a couple days -- although, unfortunately, I question how much it helped prepared me at all. The BRS phys book was the proverbial knife in a gun battle. Apparently people suggest the BRS pathophysio clinical case book as good prep.

Are you saying you need to cram in the next two weeks? Or have you been going to class and following along so far this semester/quarter?

Sorry for being unclear and thanks for your responses. I have been following along, but my fund of knowledge isn't awe-inspiring. I get the broad concepts and know actions of most hormones etc. I do need to fill in details (ex: second messenger systems for hormones and that kind of stuff.) I asked also because I know the test has a lot of pathophysiology on it as the previous poster mentioned. Two weeks is actually my normal study time frame for exams, but maybe it is cramming. In this case I considered it review in turbo mode plus learning some new pathophys, so I should have asked what's the best way to do that.

PS- My rush is so that I can go to a (non-medical) workshop that I've been wanting to go to for 5 years (and may not have another chance again) and spend more time doing research.
