Quick question about sending in photos for secondaries..
Does it matter if the photo is a "snapshot" (professional attire of course) or does it need to be a professional picture taken by a company or something?

I used this and it was fine.
Get 2x2 pictures from here, bring it to CVS or Walmart to make a paper copy. Cut them out and its all good to go.
i think im using a picture from graduation, so i'm in a tie/gown with a sash/chords showing
that should be good enough?
Thanks for the replies!

I just stood behind a white wall. Put on a collared shirt. Used my dslr and snapped a photo with a smile. Went to office depot; got some photopaper for 10 bucks (50 pack with gloss). Used deskjet printer ; best quality setting to Nice photos. Best bang for the buck if you do it yourself. I got 20 photos printed each 2x2 on one sheet of the glossy paper. Just resized with paint and copied and pasted onto microsoft word without margins.

LOL 10 bucks??...HAHA
i spent only 19cents for six 2x2 pictures.
Just like you, took a picture of myself and then used that website posted above to create six 2x2 pictures (it creates six small 2x2 pictures on one big picture). Saved it on my jump drive and went to walmart or CVS (dont remember). I printed out two copies of it (38 cents total). I cut them into twelve 2x2 pictures and sent them to the schools.
So yea 38 cents all together.
the guy above has the right idea. don't waste money getting passport pictures.
I wore a dress shirt and a tie. stood infront of a white wall and had a buddy take a picture of me.
Then I went to picnik.com and cropped the picture. Make sure you leave a little room on top and on bottom because I believe walgreens smallest size is the wallet size... which is a 2x3. Then cut half an inch off the top and half an inch off the bottom. BOOOM!!! you've got yourself a 2x2. And the great thing is... it'll cost you around 50 cents.

LoL yea unfortunately I had to fork over the 10 bucks for the 100 pack of office depot glossy photo paper. I really only used 2 sheets, but I didnt want to try stealing two sheets and making a run for it. I didn't wanna sabotage dental school bc of a theft misdemeanor simply because I was being overly cheap ahahhaha. So now, I have 98 sheets left sitting here. I got so bored though that I put leftover photos all under my family's pillows one day ahahhahaa.
I got passport photos taken. It's a good picture of me but I'm wearing a gray t-shirt, but you can really only see a tiny bit of it. I haven't sent the ones with pictures out yet, should I go redo them wearing something else?

This is a good opportunity to stand out and show the adcoms how unique you are. I slapped a pic from facebook into paint. I was slammin a yagerbomb as my hamburger meat was flowing out of my shirt. My name is Rod and I party.

no it's fine. The director of admission at UNLV was telling us that a regular 2 x 2 picture is perfectly fine. She was even chuckling when she told us some people took professional/glamour shot pictures to send in.
Lol well I can imagine people taking their 2x2 with a fake tree background. I ended up redoing it wearing a dress shirt and tie, you can barely see it but you can tell I have a white shirt and tie on.no it's fine. It was expensive.. but i got mine taken at a studio.. my "passport" ones looked horrible, and the studio ones turned out really well.. I think it stood out and looked really professional.. if youre willing to spend the extra money
I used that website above and the lady at CVS did not appreciate it at all....oh well
Use the self service printer.
I just took one of my typical 4x6 photos I had on my digital camera where I was standing alone in the pic with a suit on and made copies of it at Wal Mart. After that, I cut out 2x2 photos of my face and upper chest area. Cost me a dollar something for 6 4x6 photos, which I think is much better than paying 30 something dollars for 6 2x2 passport photos. Bulls^*#. 🙂
