Do med schools look down upon someone who is enrolled in a 2 year post bac program but is trying to start med school and leave after the first year. Would it be more advantageous in the eyes of admission committees to do a 1 year program so you are not backing out on a 2 year commitment? Please let me know what is best because I do not want to make the wrong decision.

If your postbacc program is not a degree program, I don't think you will have a problem.

If you postbacc program is a degree program (master program), I believe most medical schools encourage you to finish the degree first. But it can be totally different from school to school. Maybe the med school that you did your postbacc at might accept you and allow you to do a dual degree. I think you should call school that you wanna apply to and ask. That might be the only way to figure it out.

If you want to start the school next year and have a choice between one yr and two yr program, why would you want to do a two year program?
