For those of you that haven't taken the stats requirement, are you putting it as a "future" class on your amcas application? if you are, does this mean you have to take stats because now all the other schools are expecting you to take it??

please help, i don't want to take the class if i don't have to!

well, when are you planning on putting it? you'd have to take it if you put it in the fall b/c you wouldn't have heard back from ucla yet. if you put it in the spring and get rejected from ucla before then (i don't know how likely that is), then i'd say you don't have to take it unless it's a prereq at another school. it seems like either way you'd probably have to take it b/c you probably won't have heard back from ucla.

Do you think UCLA would even consider my application if Statistics isn't on it at all?

Maybe they'll just let me take it before I matriculate?? maybe??

Hi,
Maybe you put it down for summer school, 2003?

You would hopefully know by then.

i'd suggest calling the admissions office. only they can tell you for sure. a summer school class is a good option if they have one that's condensed to the first six weeks. when does ucla start?

i'm sort of in the same boat with biochem. 4 schools i wanted to apply to require it, but i don't really have time to take it b/c i also have to take an english class. (it's sad that i'm having to take english rather than a class that will actually help me for med school.) i've decided to only apply to one school that requires biochem and take a chance there b/c on their website they said they might still consider you. this means not applying to usc and uci -- the two california schools i might actually have a decent shot of getting into 🙁 oh well...

Is this a new requirement? I didn't take any statistics in college and was admitted to UCLA this past year.
