Congratulations to everyone who did so well in the match this year, it is certainly inspiring for those of us considering neuro for next year. Any idea if data has been released yet regarding this year's match (or unmatch) rate? I'm pretty sure last year's was 96% but I wanted to see if any new trends had developed with regard to competitiveness. What was the general feeling on the interview trail this year? Thanks!

Don't know when data will be released on this year's Neuro Match, but there is a nice spreadsheet-style page available on the SF Match's website that gives a lot of data from the previous 12 years' matches, but it is in the password-protected 'Program Directory' section. I would imagine it'll be a while before we see any new data, as they have included results from the 2nd Tier match (which is now a 'scramble' this year) in the past as well. Seems like things went really well for those of us on this site, at least!

As far as competitiveness in Neuro goes this year, I was told by a couple of program coordinators that applications overall were up, but that's anecdotal. Also, some schools had larger than normal numbers of grads going into Neuro (Minnesota, Rochester (NY), Maryland)--also anecdotal, and therefore dodgy at best. It'll be really interesting to see some hard data, as the sense is that Neuro is poised to explode in terms of popularity...stick with Neuro and best of luck with your match next year!

The stats should be interesting this year. I also heard on the interview trail
that apps were up and quality was better. My med school matched 5 to neurology, up from 2 last year and 0 two years ago. I also wonder what affect the child neurology match had on the adult match.
