i'm having so much difficulty with this. the interview days provide me with such a subjective view. i've talked to other students during my interviews who met with different physicians/personalities and as a result have completely different impressions of programs. i interviewed at a program and met a very unhappy resident and i'm therefore going to rank this program lower on my list, i'm sure the other 19 residents are happy, but i wouldn't know. i liked another program and then spoke to a medical student from the program's respective medical school and who said the PM&R residents are treated like social workers by the rest of the hospital, but they had good facilities and friendly faculty and residents. it gets more difficult when factoring in locations, night life, outdoor activities, living far away from my family and friends.
i think i'll just make as much as an informed decision that i can make when ranking, given that i may not have all the information. also, i did all of my rotations at my medical school's program. in retrospect, i probably should have done some away electives to get a better impression of different programs.
go eagles!
