I am considering purchasing the newest copies of BRS path and First Aid. I was wondering if anyone knows if these books have anything more to offer, or should I continue using my old copies (BRS 2nd ed; 2005 First Aid). Thanks!
i haven't seen the new BRS out there yet but according to amazon the '01 has 22 more pages than the new one. i dont know how it can get any better than the 01 version...that book is money!
in terms of First Aid...i heard there were some sporadic errors in 2005 so fork over the bux and get the 06...u'll like the fact that it's set up by systems and by sciences anyway
quideam said:Frankly, i think the 2006 BRS is shorter because the font is smaller and the margins are smaller (i.e., less room to write your own notes). I'm sticking with the 2nd edition.
Yeah, I'm sticking with the 2nd edition as well. I've gotten too used to using it over the past 1+ year, not to mention all the notes I've made in the margins.

First of all, thanks everyone for your response. I finally got a look at the book myself and the font is kinda small. I guess since I'm used to the 2nd ed I will continue with it. (if it ain't broke don't fix it right?)
Second, Passion...I feel the same way. Classes are such a nuisance these days. I've been so focused on board study that classes are becoming a 2nd priority these days.
Well, best wishes on the boards everyone...Let's aim high!
what's "high" anyway?
i dont know what the numbers are about and what to aim for and what's avg and all that jazz

Has anyone heard of the book that is coupled with First Aid 2006 here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0071470808/ref=pe_snp_808/103-2855193-2516629?n=283155
It's not available until Feb 1, but I'm wondering if there is any word on what it's supposed to be like.

bumping this up for advice on the new combo offered on amazon.....w/ shipping its only 41$ for FA 2006 and the clinical cases book combined.....looks like a good deal to me even though I don't know anything about FA's clinical case book....
Did anyone get this? What do you think of the extra book?
Thanks in advance!

i actually got the new edition of the path brs
yeah the font is smaller and that means less room for writing, but i just for some reason like the way it looks.
since i didnt have much writing or highlighting in my old edition, i decided that i might as well get the new brs. i have not yet noticed too many differences, so i suggest that if you do have writing and highlighting in your old edition that you stick to that.
