Hmmmm, I didn't think about this. I have one school that I took a summer class at then three years later I went back there for more classes. I just lumped it together. I'll have to see what AACOMAS does with it.

Yeah, that was my situation. You could call them just to make sure . . . . I'm sure it's no big deal. At worst they might rearrange it for you and it might take a little longer to get verified. 🙂

No we live in Texas now. I'm still very much an Illinoisan though. We're not actually applying to our school here because we're looking forward to moving elsewhere. I asked SIU about applying there but they said I'm not considered in-state anymore.

If you get into TCOM, we could be classmates! They call you for an interview really quickly after you are complete.

2003: Returned to school where I will be graduating in the Spring 2008.
Clubs: AMSA, AED(medical honor society) and a founding father of Phi Delta Epsilon fraternity at my school, Florida International University. Big Brothers and Big Sisters; however I just recently joined roughly 4 months ago.

I was also a Campus minister for a year. I am also musician; drum set 14 years and guitar for 5 years.

NOW! Due to my work schedule my GPA suffered tremendously. I know its horrific however I heard that there are some DO schools that look at the whole package. Can someone please tell me which are these schools and, what are my chances getting into to them?

Yeah it is especially because I did spend the first 18 years of my life there and then I get the shaft. There's still hope for CCOM though! BTW, my mom played flute in the Chester Municipal Band in the '80s.

I'm not taking the MCAT until Aug. I still need to get my transcript sent in since it was lost in the mail which means I'm still not verified. However, does that even matter since I'm not taking my first MCAT until Aug 9th? Am I good to go as long as my AACOMAS is verified in time to allow schools to send me secondary requests and get the secondaries sent in before the MCAT scores come out?

how do you know your transcript was lost in the mail? AACOMAS cant take a while to realize they have a transcript and sometimes it takes the registrar a while to send a transcript.

That said, don't bother rushing a transcript just yet. I'd go ahead and send it standard since your app won't be complete until you get your MCAT scores. The only advantage you'd get would be a few days to work on secondaries... maybe.
 
Yeah, the transcript was sent on June 13th. Well, let me wait and see.
 
I'd give it a good 2 weeks from the time they're supposed to actually have the transcript in hand before you decide they don't have it.

EDIT: but if you need reassurance, sending a second one won't delay your processing at all.
 
Off topic, but is OLYWA talking about that place south of Tacoma? Anyway, I had a classmate that just finished her AACOMAS, and split it up like option 2. That was the AACOMAS suggestion.

Thanks for all of the good advice that you give on here. I had another transcript question that I couldn't find an answer for (sorry if I did miss the answer posted somewhere else!).
I sent in my transcripts to AACOMAS mid-May, and just submitted my application yesterday (6/22). I hadn't started working on my application until around 6/15 or so. So far, the transcripts have not posted as being received. I'm planning on calling AACOMAS on Monday, but do you guys think that this is normal? Before I sent my transcripts, I e-mailed them making sure that it was ok to send them that early, and they said to go ahead and send them.
Thanks for your help everyone!🙂

One of my transcripts was received in about 3 days, the other wasn't received after two weeks. I went ahead and sent another one and it was just received this past week.

Most likely they will find it, but if you have the extra couple dollars to send it in again, I would (just to make sure).
 
They are pretty good at responding to your e-mails. I just got a response Saturday night. Also, they fixed everything that I asked for. Transcripts take awhile to get posted, like they might receive yours on the 10th and not put it in the computer until a week later. So be patient. GPA verification takes a few more days after all transcripts post, from my experience...

They do seem to be pretty good about responding quickly. My last transcript was received but listed as a different school. I e-mailed them yesterday and they had responded and fixed it by this evening.

I am planning to turn in my AACOMAS on the 27th or 28th of June. Will it be late or will I be okay? Please realize that I am not trying to be smart or anything; this is a serious question. thanx
 
I submitted my AACOMAS in November. I received acceptances. Enough said.
 
If that's when you're going to submit, then that's when you're going to submit. No matter whether you're early or late. Just turn it in.

Ditto. It is not even "late", IMO. I would recommend that anyone get them in as early as they can. But if you have a good chance at an acceptance, apply away!
 
I suggest taking a peek at this thread. We've been addressing the issue of when it is late in the application cycle over there.

The cycle runs until february/march for most schools, you are plenty early!😀

what if you took classes two summers in a row but not during the regular school year?
 
If I did research, under what category will it fall under in the AACOMAS?
 
My AACOMAS status on mailings has been "processed" for a week now, when should I be anticipating secondary apps to be fowarded to me?

You can give me the entire Ft. Worth and Dallas Tour--I would need to know where a Chicagoan can relax😀 Hopefully I get an interview at TCOM, being oos will make this rough😱

KCUMB was pretty nice to me last year, you might e-mail them and explain your situation... see if you could sub something? Maybe get one from the SMP early-on and apply to KCUMB late?

I applied to MSU but didn't complete their secondary. They require this amazingly painful form that you need your LOR writers to complete... my LOR writers are all across the country and incredibly busy. Just didn't seem fair to them, esp since I couldn't ask in person.

Hello guys. Did all of you send the AACOMAS transcript form in with your transcripts? What if you don't send it in and just send the transcripts alone? I just looked on the site and saw the form but I already had my scripts sent out. 🙁 I hope this doesn't jack me up!! Actually, that's what I get b/c someone told me where to look, but I didn't see it so I just went on, and I usually find anything on a website.

They e-mailed me.... for some reason I don't see a status page on my app. There's noting in the "messages" file and I got ansty and e-mailed them 🙂
 
I had sent my transcripts before the app was available so couldn't include the forms. They got them just fine. There is probably a higher risk of them getting lost or at least taking longer, but you should be ok.

I'm in the same situation, sorry, don't know the answer either. I've been processed since 6/18.
 
Just make sure that your stats are competitive... if you're not, why would they take you over someone else who applied early?

AACOMAS takes anywhere from 1 month to 2 months to process depending on when you submit. Thost that submit now will be verified alot faster than those submitting in mid fall (i can attest to that 😛). Since its the summer, i'd say your app should take about a month to get verified. Once your app has been verified, it can take another couple weeks to start getting secondaries, some schools have automatic secondaries that they e-mail you ...some schools have screenings before they send u a secondary..it all depends. good luck :luck::luck:
 
My AACOMAS GPA page was just updated.

My BCMP is 3.364
non-Science is 3.566
All is 3.528

Not too bad... now come on AMCAS! and MCAT scores! *sheesh*
 
It school depedant how secondaries work. I know that some e-mail it to you, others use other ways. NSU, Touro Navada, both midwesterns e-mail it to you. Both Pcom's and Touro-MI mail it to you. UMDNJ has it on their website you just have to download it. NYCOM only sends it to people they interview and you bring it with you to the interview.
After the school gets the primary it takes a week or two for the schools to send e-mails. The schools who send by regular mail can take longer. The schools who send out only to people they interview may have no real time line. You are just happy to recieve one because you know you have an interview.
