My advisor just emailed me this link to a pdf file that lists the number of allopathic and osteopathic physicians by state. It even shows how many osteopathic physicians go on to practice medicine in the state their medical school was located.

I thought some of you might find this informative 🙂.

Oklahoma and Michigan seems to have a large amount of DOs.


And I am astounded in how many physicians per 100,000 people there are in Massachusetts compared to Mississippi. This is a much bigger problem than I previously thought. If I was in congress, I'd do something about that (no taxes for physicians in Mississippi, and 2x taxes for those in Taxachusetts ).
