I'm trying to get an idea of when the 2007 test is offered. I looked online, but couldn't find the date. I'm trying to plan some travel, so I wanted to have a good idea of when test dates are. Thanks in advance!

you schedule it for whatever date you want. You should look at your school schedule and they probably give you a recomended window to take it in.

Funny to see how almost everybody thinks that USMLE is like MCATs, i.e. that it is offered on any one particular day (I used to think so myself).
Well it is not.
When you register, you pick a 3 months period, in which you have to take the test. After that, you contact a prometric center, and figure out on what day you will take the test. Of course, some prometric centers can get pretty booked up, so don't expect to get ANY day you want. However, you do have a lot of freedom, regarding the test date; certainly more than with MCATs, which are done only 2x a year.

Any ideas on how often the USMLE was available this past year during peak time (ie June/July)? Is it almost 7 days a week, a few days a week scattered throughout the month, somewhere in between?....just trying to get an idea how I'm gonna schedule this around some weddings, a vacation, rotations starting June 11, and taking the COMLEX...

I tried looking through the usmle and prometric sites...but it didn't seem like I could view available dates w/o registering already....if thats possible could someone post the link w/ either last years or this years dates..thanks a lot

Depends on your testing site, but most sites offer at least 6 days a week. A lot of the June/July days fill up fast though so you have to register early. You can't view the dates available until you have a login that you get by registering for the exam.

If possible..yeah....there's only a few days that can work around my plans for next summer..

I'm pretty sure we need something from our school to register for COMLEX and USMLE....can someone post a quick run-through of this?

Thanks a lot

yeah we need an NBOME secure code. Let me know if you figure out how to get it.
ok...just did a more detailed search on here....looks like we'll get this code from our individual schools around dec/jan...and can then register for COMLEX from there. USMLE looks like it can be started before that...printing out a form, taking a picture, getting it certified by your school, snail-mailing it out then waiting for your code/ticket to arrive in the mail. In both situations..once you have the code you can apply and register online for available dates...though it sounds like 6 months before the test date is the earliest time to do this.....so we can both pretty much chill....

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong
