Do you by any chance know what the movement was like last year for Einstein (for non-HPLs)?

A current 1st year mentioned that she got off the waitlist last June and she was non-HPL, which indicates movement did occurred. Meanwhile, a quick browse from last year's thread showed little waitlist movement. Only HPL movement occurred.

thanks for the info...yeah im not really getting my hopes up. I also knew of a male student last year get in off the non hpl list in june...so i guess that makes at least two.

True, but then again Einstein didn't start interviewing till October, what with Jewish holidays and such.

I actually interviewed in September, so the wait was been extremely long for me.

4months for initial decision on Jan 15
Jan-Present for waitlist movement.

Yea, it's doug. Haha. I love that cartoon.

Arthur is pretty wicked cool, too. He should be your new avatar. How come today's cartoons are not nearly as good as the cartoons we grew up with? That should be a 2nd prompt for one of the med school. Schools would get some pretty interesting and amusing answers.

Well, I don't like Arthur that much. haha. I agree with the prompt question. At least then I can talk about how I learned all of Shakespeare's plays through Wishbone as a child.

I got the favorable review email today. I was surprised to get it this late in the process after I had been waitlisted way back in January. I told them how badly I want in at their school so now I just wait. Here's to hoping for the best.

Would you mine me asking if you sent in letter of intents and updates? Also, my boss wrote me a strong LOR, but he sent it to me as an electronic copy. Do you think it would be okay if I forward his LOR to Einstein via email or should I ask him to snail mail it, which will take a bit more time? I hope my efforts are working..

Now I just got into the school! It's all happening so fast, lol. I sent them a loi a while ago and I have been sending them emails throughout the whole process, just updating them on new jobs and such. I don't know about the lor this late in the process. I don't think it would hurt, but maybe you could have him send it in electronically on your behalf.

I'm rly happy to have my number one choice. Gl to you all and I hope to see you in august.

I got in as well! I was waitlisted in January, and then received the acceptance this week as well. I'm so excited!! Can't wait to meet all of you future Einsteiners in a few months.

Hey Sushi, no I was on the regular waitlist (was there another waitlist? my waitlist letter never said anything about being on high priority).

Hang in there, make sure you let them know how much you love Einstein! I know how long and painful the wait can be, but it makes the end result oh so much sweeter.

I just got off the waitlist with a pretty hefty scholarship, now im pretty torn.

If it helps i didnt send any LOIs or anything..i just responded to their email saying i was still interested.

I have to make my decision soon, but good luck to the rest of yall!

Just withdrew today. Einstein was high up on my list of schools, but the opportunity to stay in state with my top choice just trumped it. Good LUCK all!!

Just got accepted to AECOM today 🙂 Got the highly favorable email last friday and responded on saturday, so very quick turn around! Im so excited about this school and will most probably be going here!

I didnt get that highly favorbale thing...They just sendt me something asking if i was still intersteed..when i answered the email i got a call the next day with an acceptance and scholarship.

If you dont mind me asking, and no offense meant, but why would they offer scholarships to people being accepted now? Isn't the fact that those of us on a waitlist were not as desirable and they would therefore offer scholarships to those accepted earlier?

I was thinking the same thing. No idea though. She said I had really high interview marks??

I just got my acceptance letter yesterday! 😀 And sent in my deposit today.

Here's how the application process worked for me:
MCATS and AMCAS submitted in August 2008
Secondary App sent February 2009
Interview April 2009 (the interview was very friendly & stress free. I was the only one without a suit, I just wore pants and a cotton sweater and felt very comfortable)
Highly Favorable Waitlist email received May 2009
Acceptance Letter w/scholarship invitation received June 2009

Things I wish I knew/would do differently:
submit my CSS profile earlier! And be more prepared for the rainy weather and long walk to my interviewer's office

Looks like the favorable list email, which means that you have a high chance of being accepted, Congrats!

For those still on the wait list, here is some hope. I got a "still interested?" email on the first and recieved an email yesterday with an acceptance! So crazy since I was so set on another school in nyc. Now I have to do all that paper work again! But, Einstein it is...

You get a letter in the mail saying you've been withdrawn...I got it after a little more than a week of notifying them (I'm from CA so maybe that's why it took awhile).
