Come on now.....there is no way you can say the flames suck especially when your beloved Oilers didn't even make it to the playoffs  (just kidding)........But yeah your right.....Sharks are definitely one of the teams to beat this year (perhaps THE team to beat this year, especially having acquired Brian Campbell)....I'm predicting a San Jose vs. Pittsburgh... or... San Jose vs Montreal Stanley cup playoff match.....whaddya think?

cool article. Something that seems like a no brainer to us (get pads to blend into the ice) ... doesn't even cross the mind of someone else. Good to see a positive article in the news. 🙂

As a LIFE LONG and long suffering fan of the Buffalo Sabres, I am glad to see Brian Campbell leave. He's a great guy, and a great defenceman but he's simply not worth the 6 or 7 million that he's going to get paid next year. People forget that two years ago he was a part time player who could barely crack the lineup. Definitely an asset to any team in need of an OFFENSIVE defenceman (not a defensive defenceman) but his cap busting salary is going to cripple most teams that want to sign him. He's simply not Lidstrom, Stevens, Leech, Coffey, Potvin, etc. etc.

The Pens are stacked, and I feel bad for any Senator fan out there..... wait, no I dont, you guys are getting some payback this year!

The Pens are definitely stacked.....Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, Sykora, Malone, etc....

The Sens may have stood a chance, but with Fisher and Alfredsson out...they can kiss whatever hopes they had goodbye.........

Hey KHE...I totally feel you....the Sabres definitely deserved better than having many key players (Drury, Briere, etc...) leaving to free agency....I remember just a few years back, the Sabres were definitely the team to beat....and now with rumors of Ryan Miller maybe leaving for Detroit (I really hope he doesn't)....the immediate future does not look too bright.....but they have some promise in some of the young players they have (Afinogenov, Vanek, etc...)

I honestly think that's what the Sharks needed...an OFFENSIVE defenceman...you know what they say.."The best defense is a great offence"...and looking at the number of games they have won since acquiring Campbell (some outrageous stats like 14-1-2 or something)....it's looking very rosy for the sharks, and very gloomy for my beloved Flames 🙁

To tell the truth Darcy Regier really **** the bed a couple of summers ago when he could've signed drury and briere to contracts and chose not too.. and honestly Brian Campbell knows he's gonna get way more money on the open market.. which btw is what anyone would do.. Plus I believe at the rate at which players are cashin in today I believe Campbell is worth 6-7 million b/c he is such a great puck mover and a PP quarterback.. he's vastly improved the sharks PP since the trade deadline... Lets jus hope the Sharks can bounce back and knock out those pesky flames

At the same time altho buffalo is biting the bullet now they have alot of prospects that are comin up the system and give it a couple of yrs and ur forwards will be great...

tell lamar to take it easy on the rooks geeez

He blew it with Briere, but Drury wanted to play for the Rangers and no one else. It wouldn't have made a lick of difference what they offered him.

Campbell is a good offensive defenseman, and it's probably true that he'll get that kind of money but after watching him play for 7 years, he's just not worth it. That's going to be a cap buster for most teams and I'm glad that the Sabres dealt him. Nice guy, good hockey player, but not for 7 mil a year.
