I had my interviews in February, 2/14 and 2/21.
My first one went extremely well. It was with an MD who had been teaching in Biomed for 12 years or so and he has been interviewing students as well. We started talking about the usual stuff first, why medicine, why ucr, what type of doctor. I incorporated, as I always do, my unique background into my responses and, in doing so, the professor became much more interested in learning about me as a person. I was very comfortable talking about myself and the interview turned out to be more like a coffee shop conversation.
My second interview did not go well. It was with a psychiatrist at Kaiser in Riverside. Don't get me wrong, my interviewer was a very kind and professional person. I, however, just never really motivated myself to be enthusiastic about the interview. It was my last interview (of 5) of the application year and to be honest, I was getting tired of being asked the same questions over and over (I just wanted to get accepted somewhere). So, the second interview did not go as well as the first and I was well aware that I only had myself to blame.
Just to let you know, my numbers are pretty average but my ECs are above average. I can usually charm the socks off people I meet but I don't BS. Good luck. Let me know if you would like more specific info.
