I was hoping we would see more of the 8+ people show up 😀

4 interview invites
3 interviews attended
2 acceptances
1 waitlist
1 pre-interview rejection
4 or 5 have been completely silent (probably rejections to come)

3 acceptances!
4 waitlists. withdrew from 1.
2 interviews I didn't go to.
1 pre-interview rejection.

Since everybody is doing it. I should too.

4 acceptances.
1 HOLD
2 Deferred till March
2 March schools

Hi Guys, I've been lurking here for a few months...wish I would have discovered this site years ago.

Out of excitement w/ my luck I'll post:
2 acceptances!
2 waitlists
1 post-interview decision pending
2 more interviews scheduled

2 acceptances (not counting my D.O. acceptances since this is pre-allo)
1 interview attended (no decision yet)
5 pre-interview rejections
13 no news *sad face*

I applied to five schools:

1 interview --> 1 acceptance!
2 pre-interview rejections
1 small pooled but then nothing
1 no news

But I have all that I need!

16 Interview Offers
12 Attended
8 Acceptances
0 Rejections (Post-Interview)
0 Waitlists
6 Decisions Pending
1 Pre-Interview Rejections

Overapplied, but the filling order for interview invitations had top choices coming in late, with not-tops in the middle when I had no acceptances, so I ended up going on on almost all (see ya MN and Vandy)...

I'll bite.

Lets see...

4 Interview Offers
4 Attended
3 Acceptances
0 Rejections
0 Waitlists
5 Schools I didn't bother filling out secondaries for.

22 interview offers
14 attended
11 acceptances
2 waiting for decisions post interview
1 rejection
1 waitlist

Applied to too many schools. damn!

25 primaries (dumb - way too many - waste of money)
3 rejection pre secondary
15 secondaries submitted (7 secondaries not filled out)
4 rejection post secondary
7 interview offers
6 attended
5 acceptances
1 rejection post interview
4 schools I haven't heard from...don't expect to, don't care anymore...

I think that all adds up.

Apply broadly, but no need to go overboard like I did. I would have done fine with half as many primary apps...

16 completes (late Aug-mid Oct)
8 interview invitations
1 waitlist
1 post interview hold
2 post interview 'we're just going to ignore you and hope you go away's
4 too early to tell

I'm totally boned this year 🙁

4 pre-interview withdraws
2 pre-interview rejections
10 interviews
2 post-interview withdraws
5 acceptances
3 decisions pending

reeeaaallly crossing my fingers for the remaining 3 :xf:

20 Applied
6 Rejected pre-interview
14 Interview invitations

3 Withdrew pre-interview
11 Attended

4 Accepted
2 Waitlisted/Withdrawn
5 Pending/Deferred

I think I would have removed a lot of schools that I realized I wouldn't want to attend for geographical purposes. I added USC, Chicago, and Northwestern at the last minute even though I wasn't too serious about moving to LA or Chicago.

3 interview invites
3 interviews attended
3 acceptances
2 pre-interview holds
3 pre-interview rejections
Numerous pre-interview silent rejections👎

I guess I can join...

32 primaries (waaay too many)
4 pre secondary rejections
24 secondaries ( mostly too burnt out to do the rest)
quite a few "pre interview holds"
6 interviews
2 acceptances
4 waitlists. withdrew/withdrawing from 2-3.
0 post interview rejections.
withdrawing from all "pre interview hold"s that are out of state which leaves only 4 or so that I'm waiting on.

I'm ready for this roller coaster to end. Thankfully the acceptances have slowed it down 🙂

35 primaries
31 secondaries
6 interview invites
4 interviews attended, 2 withdrew
1 acceptance

waiting on three schools for final decision

28 Primary applications
27 Secondaries
25 interviews received
13 interviews attended; 12 withdrew
7 acceptances
2 wait lists/post interview hold
4 waiting for decision post interview

applied to way too many schools....

Seems like after 3 acceptances there is a big difference.

14 primaries submitted
8 secondaries
1 rejection post-sec
1 interview declined
1 interview next week
1 withdrawal pre-int
3 no news post-sec
1 interview --> acceptance (but I'll take it!)

So far:

2 Silent Schools
3 Holds
4 Pre-Interview Rejections
4 Interview Invites
2 Attended
1 Wait-list
1 Pending
0 Acceptances...

12 primaries
12 secondaries received (filled out 11)
7 interview invites (remaining 4: 3 withdraws & 1 rejection pre-interview)
4 acceptances post-interview (remaining 3: 2 holds & 1 waitlist)

I'm currently only holding on to one of those four acceptances, so you're welcome to those who will be accepted to the other three schools earlier now thanks to me...jk 😛

I think I am going to cry after looking at this post

9 applications
8 interview, i declined a ninth
4 acceptances

the texas match is on monday

i think a poll like this would be better if it were in percentages. i got into 2 schools, which to some of the nutters may seem low. but i only applied to 15. if i applied to 30 schools, maybe i would have gotten into 4 schools, but the percentage would be the same

9 school applied to
5 silent schools
4 interview invites
3 interviews attended
2 acceptances
1 decision pending

and a partridge in a pear tree.

10 primaries
7 secondaries
5 interviews (2 acceptances ,3 still waiting on😛ost 1/8 interviews)
1 rejection
1 "silent rejection"??😕

👍

MD/PhD, so it's a tad different, but here's my stats so far:

19 applications
12 interview invites
6 interviews attended
5 acceptances
1 no news

I am not interested in your personal success as an applicant. I am more interested in the overall success of SDN compared to the average applicant.

Well, um, if you've many acceptances already, decide quickly and withdraw so the rest of us waiting losers can have an easier time ;p

It boggles my mind that 12+ is even an option and that not one, but TWO people have so far claimed to have that many acceptances. Overkill?? :eyebrow:

This poll was interesting--and revealing about sdn culture--when compared to the ensuing discussion.

50 % or so of anonymous peopled poled had 0 to 1 or 2 acceptances. And yet the people who posted have a lot more. Empirical data for the sdn hyper-dork self-selection artifact.

20 primaries submitted
19 secondaries submitted (1 was MIA; the school doesn't screen, but I wrote it off anyway to prematurely narrow things for myself. Kind of silly, but oh well)
3 pre-interview rejections
2 pre-interview holds for re-review
7 interviews offered
1 interview attended so far
0 acceptances, waitlists, and post interview rejections
Waiting on 9 pre-interview decisions (including the holds)

Having just begun my interviewing, it's too soon for me to have real results on this. Just figured I'd weigh in while I'm here.

I will say that I didn't really expect to have this many interviews, especially not when I've heard from just over half of my schools. I may already need to withdraw from one due to the travel/hotel expenses piling up (I'm really trying to make it work, but rest assured I'll decide soon so as not to hog the spot). If I were to do it again, I'd switch out a few schools for tougher ones. I definitely underestimated how well I'd do. I blame you for this, SDN!!! Anyway, if I get one acceptance I'll be happy. I didn't apply anywhere I wouldn't be willing to go.

I think this poll needs to be re-posted in May. The results will be more accurate then since many people, like myself, haven't gotten most of their results yet.
