looooooooong long time ago...Meharry was one of the first secondaries I completed and I submitted my AMCAS back in June. I'm pretty sure I was complete here beginning of September because of my MCAT score (definitely past their "8 weeks to hear back" timeline). I submitted the secondary back in August.

Good luck to the rest of you still waiting to hear back from Meharry and other schools this cycle...I definitely thought that I wouldn't be hearing back from them at all let alone anymore interviews into the new year. It really isn't over until it's over. 🙂

Congrats! I know you have been complete for a long time and have been posting on this thread for a while! Good job 👍

if anyone is still trying to find lodging, hotels.com currently has a special rate going for the millenium maxwell.

Headed to Nashville for my interview 2moro! Hooray for 10 n a half hr drives!

So, how was it? + What did you think of the school?
Also, if you wouldn't mind posting some of the Interview Q's they threw at you.
Thanks and Good Luck!! 😛

LOL... I haven't heard anything from anyone yet either... so you are not alone... 🙂 So yea... still hopeful for all of us who was interviewed on the 11th.

This background check thing is driving me CRAZY though...:scared::scared::scared:is that a sign of rejection!?:scared:

...why would schools waste money on background checks for rejected applicants?! Thats definitely a sign of acceptance *somewhere*.

No I know that...a couple of us didn't get the email yet. Just wondering if that is a bad sign or if maybe it doesn't matter yet.

Interviewing 2/19. OOS and wondering what to do about a hotel. Is the Millenium my best bet?

Guesthouse Inns Suites has rooms for $100, and it's not that far from the college. Hampton Inn and Best Western Downtown have similarly priced hotels. Hotels.com shows everything.

hotels.com has the millenium maxwell for $65 dollars a night but i think you have to stay 2 nights. to my understanding, they have a free airport shuttle and the hotel is within 5 minutes of Meharry.

correction, it is $70 dollars a night and you don't have to stay 2 nights. i think it will be the better hotel if you are unfamiliar with the area. it is also the one Meharry recommended.

When did you get accepted? It might take awhile for the schools to request them as they accept people. I got mine around the date AMCAS said they would be available but I was accepted back in October...so that particular school could have requested it anytime between October and January.

Meharry doesn't offer the opportunity to stay with current students??? I certainly don't have extra money for hotels lol (especially since I haven't driven to any of my interviews yet)...luckily one of my best friends goes here.

They do offer to stay with current students. I actually did that. You have to email admissions and they'll redirect you to the guy who runs that program.

I'm considering doing this, but the convenience of the hotel shuttle and the luxury of having my own space just might outweigh the money saved and the chance to really get to know a student and the city. Was the student able to pick you up from the airport and get you to the interview, or did you have to orchestrate that yourself?

Well so I know that if you didn't get an email apparently it means Wait list!

Oh well....thought my interview went well too. Their wait list isn't ranked either so I have no idea how they take people off of it.

Anyways good luck to the rest of you!

I got a rate of $50.00 from the Maxwell Millenium Hotel. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who has never been to Nashville. Their shuttle service is AMAZING. It will save you so much trouble plus there are others staying there as well so you might be able to link up and go visit the city.

I stayed with a student on my last interview (that I didn't already know) and I thought it was a decent experience...Then again I did actually have a bed and the living room to myself. I've heard of some not so great experiences of ppl staying with students though.

Ilvcurst...how do you know that you're waitlisted just b/c you haven't received the CBC yet? Have they sent you something saying that your file was reviewed and a decision was made? I'm not sure what the process is here, so perhaps thats why I'm confused.

I got complete on 01/18 and I just got an interview invite today(1/26). So Im so excited and nervous any advise I would welcome.

I just received an invite for 03/01! ..I know, it's pretty late in the process but it's one more shot. 😀

I'm going to an interview March 8th.. If anybody wanna share a room and split the cost of hotel, send me a message...

I got my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday. It was dated Jan 22, and I interviewed on Jan 11. I don't want to seem like I'm gloating, but I am so so so excited because this is my first acceptance. Good luck to everyone else interviewing soon!! Hopefully we'll be classmates in the fall 🙂

Good job! I'm so happy for you 🙂 I think that means David got in too!

I hope you get a few more acceptances along the way 🙂

Hi,

I am a single mom and I wanted to direct this question to the medical students. Do any of yall know a single mom or single dad in medical school? I wanted to know what daycare is good. I really need to know how it really is being in school and taking care of a baby by yourself. What is a good area to move to that is family friendly? Do you know of any good assistance programs for single moms in Nashville.

I would like to know how it is for single moms as well. I have a 4 year old. And how long it took for people to here back about there acceptance or interview?

Anyone going to be there on 2/15? I was marked complete around 11/20 and received an interview invite on Dec 15.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the school and meeting my fellow interviewees!

we're like interview twins! i was complete 11/17 and got the interview invite 12/15 for 2/15! see you then.

just interviewed here and LOVED IT 😍 I hope to hear some good news in the next 2 to 3 weeks. My interviewer was mad cool. I don't think I could have asked for a better person. He was really interested in getting to know me and by the end we were laughing it up. Some things I noticed that was different than what was said here was that they told me that there are 105 spots this year and they're interviewing ~400-500 ppl and they accept 2x to 2.5x the class size. They did say that they have accepted about half the class and interviewed half the people. Good luck to everyone who is waiting :luck:

Interviewing on Friday 2/5. There's 90% chance of snow 😱. Did anyone recieve a parking pass via email? I am renting a car from at the airport. Anyone gonna be there on friday?

hey it was a snow day when i was there so the interview was delayed until noon so they could clear the roads because there is a very steep hill to the campus and nashville isnt really into the whole snow thing so took them a while to get the roads clear. Mind you I flew in on a Saturday because I have friends who go here and by Monday the roads still weren't clear so just be prepared. But the interview was still great!!!!

Going to be withdrawing my acceptance. So hopefully one of my SDN people get it!

Does meharry reject people right after an interview? or do the first place them on waitlist

No, I don't believe so, I think they have a committee meeting 2 weeks after interview, at least that's what happened with our group. Of course I don't know anyone who has gotten rejected yet.

Doesn't it seem hard to be rejected post-interview at any school? They just all cram us on a wait list and see what happens.

It hurts, but I've seen it happen. Not so much at schools that pre-screen, but I've seen SUNY Upstate do it, Ohio State, Penn State...some scools are just cold.

Does anyone know how often the committee meets to decide about interviewed applicants?

I just booked my flight for my interview! I'm making a weekend trip of it as well because one of my best friends goes here...so excited 😍

I received an acceptance letter in the mail today that was dated Feb 4. (I interviewed during the last week of January).

Thanks! 🙂

The interviews are very laid back - the interviewers just want to get to know you and see how you'll fit in with the school. You have a lot of opportunities to ask questions during the day to both faculty and students.

Good luck!

hey did anyone get an email from AMCAS about a background check? I just got one does that mean i'm in!!!!?????!?!?!?!
