there is a currently a committee of students collaborating on the Second Day Visit. As soon as I hear a particular date from them, I will pass the message along.
 
Any one interviewed in late December/early January got any background check email/acceptance/hold?
 
I interviewed on Nov 16 and have yet to hear back from the school, I called and emailed and they both said, my file is still under reviewing, if you calculate it has been 12 weeks. Has anybody heard of waiting this long for an acceptance at Penn State? I already know some people who got accepted/a response from my interview day from previous posts.

12 weeks is a very long time to wait for a response. I feel sorry for you. Even though, It has only been 3 weeks for me since my interview, I am already loosing my sleep b/c I haven’t heard anything yet. I hope both of us hear something soon. And let that response be a big fat packet.

I was not accepted, but I waited about as long as you to hear from Penn State... middle October until early January. Hang in there and hopefully you'll get better news than me. Many blessings.
 
I waited 9 weeks for a hold, so i'd say be patient and thankful because:
no news > bad news (or even *mediocre* news)
 
How late does Penn State send out interview invites? I see their application deadline is Jan. 15th. I'm asking because I'm wondering if they are about finished making their first pass through the people on pre-interview holds. Maybe there are a few more invites out there?

It looks like you interviewed on Dec 4. When did you get Background check email and acceptance letter?

Hey guys!
I had my interview scheduled for March 12th but called today to see if they have any openings and moved it up to February 19th. They said there are a few slots that just opened up in February so if anybody wants to move their interview up I would call ASAP!
Also, anyone else on here interviewing February 19th at 8:30? I'm so excited!!!

Thanks for the clarification... I suppose I need to look harder next time 😛. Well on the bright side of things I interviewed on Dec. 4th as well and I did get a criminal background check request last week (although I'm guessing it was from another acceptance I got.). Here is to hopefully good news soon!

The CBC that you got last week might be for Penn b/c you might get your packet today. Sleepyjoe got his yesterday and he might be closer or in big city.

So after months of waiting, I had given up on hearing back from Penn..and then I opened up my inbox this morning and surprise! Interview invite. SO EXCITED! Can't wait to see the school!
 
how is financial aid at penn state? has anybody received a university/dean's grant?

I got my acceptance letter on Tuesday. But I haven't received any CBC from Penn. I wonder though, do you have to fill one for all accepted schools or do a separate one for each acceptance?

And yeah, I did interview on the 4th of Dec.

When I said "Sleepyjoe got his yesterday", I meant the acceptance not the CBC. :laugh:

It seems (not sure) that CBC is only onetime Process. all the other school participating in CBC get the same report that first accepted school requested. Other possibility might be that CBC request went into your junk mail.

I was just wondering what is the date on your acceptance letter.
 
anyone know the instate tuition for OOS students in Pennslyvania? Is it possible to become a PA resident if going to the school?

You can't become a resident of Pennsylvania if living there for primarily educational purposes. Difference in tuition is ~10K, forget the exact numbers
 
just got an interview invite via email yesterday, scheduled for march 8th!

i noticed some ppl have already gotten off the post-int hold. is there usually a large movement off it??? what's the likelihood of getting accepted from post-int hold? thanks!

I'd like to know this as well, this is my 3rd application cycle and PSU is the ONLY school to show any interest in me as an applicant, so I have a LOT riding on this hold...:xf::xf:

Wow that was a quick turn around for Penn St. I interviewed on Dec 4th and have yet to hear a thing. Congrats!

Could you please provide following info.
When did you get CBC E-mail(It might be in spam section). What is the date on your acceptance letter.

I am just trying to figure out if there is anyyyyyyyyy chance that they might have looked at my file. I interview on Jan 18. :idea::xf:

A couple people were late last month. For me, it took exactly 2 months from being put on post-interview hold to being accepted. I think it's probably a good sign for those still on post-interview hold that they've already started taking people off the list. Good luck!
 
I got the CBC email from amcas on 2/3 saying that i would soon be getting an email to consent to a background check...haven't received that email yet.

My acceptance letter was dated February 2 and it arrived in the mail on 2/5.

Hello everyone, I may have some good news for people waiting to interview. I had an interview at Penn State scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 10. However, I was recently accepted into another medical school which is a bit higher on my list. It was a very hard decision, but I decided to withdraw from Penn State. I haven't been able to call the office yet because it's a weekend, but I sent them an e-mail. So once they're back in the office, be sure to call in if you want the spot (Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 10:00). I know this is really inconvenient because the interview is in 3 days, but I just found out about the other school. Hopefully someone can take my spot!

Hey,
I sent my secondary in a while ago and was informed that I passed the first application review. Unfortunately, it has been over a month since I heard this and have still not heard about an interview. I am getting nervous because I've been waiting for soooo long.😎
