I was looking at this today and was wondering why the answer is 8 and not sqrt of 34. If knows if there was an error, or if I just looked over something I would appreciate it.

It is definitely sqrt(34). Check your answer sheet again.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using an older copy of the 2009 test from a friend. They must have corrected this with the updated answer key.

Yes that is presumably the root of this confusion. I got mine this summer and the answer is sqrt(34) for sure.
