4. Growth (increased length) of long bones originates in which of the following regions?

A. Diaphysis

B. Metaphysis

C. Epiphysis

D. Periosteum

E. Medullar Cavity

I was torn between metaphysis and epiphysis. I ultimately chose metaphysis because growth occurs on the epiphyseal plate that is located at the metphysis part of the bone.

If answer choice C said epiphyseal plate, I would have picked that. But the answer choice is C and B is wrong.

What do you guys think?

That thread should cover almost all of them. If you do a search on the forum I'm sure you'll find other questions people have had. But for this question every source agrees that the epiphyseal plate is where long bone growth occurs, which is located in the metaphysis.
