I just took the 2009 dat exam and I am pretty disappointed with the scores I received:
bio: 19
gen chem: 17
orgo: 18
Pat: 21

I haven't taken the rc or the qr yet and I don't know if I should. My exam is this Friday and I don't know whether to postpone or not

You should absolutely take all of the sections of a practice exam, all at once, under timed conditions. What score are you aiming for? Regardless, I think postponing might be a good decision to strengthen your sciences a bit before taking the DAT.

Your GC score is concerning, and your other scores aren't blazing. If you made silly mistakes and can correct that for the DAT you should be ok, but you should seriously consider rescheduling....The fact that your are questioning your readiness leads me to believe you are not ready and a few more weeks could make all the difference in the world. This is not a test you want to repeat if it can be avoided.

Just my 2 cents after many years working with students taking the DAT..

Wishing you the best..

Nancy

Postpone!
Unless you were very tired and took the test or something happened.
How about BC tests?

When do you think I should reschedule my exam to? I do not want to be too late into the cycle because I have not submitted my apps yet

If you are burned out now when you are at your own pace, how will you be at the real test.

Seriously, don't hurt your score, take a rest 2-3 days, go to some nice place, a beach or anything. Anything, even if it just playing video games with friends or going to multiple movies or going to restaurants with family or just mediating and hiking in a park near you. I am sure there is a nice place near you!

Then after that get back to studying! You'll see! Your scores will get better.

You are on the right track, you just need more time!

Give yourself that.

Don't worry as much about being late as scoring high on the DAT..If you take the DAT and don't do well, you have to wait 3 months, that means almost Oct for a retake..I have 200 students studying in our classroom setting in NY and they do not take there DAT til mid to late August..and they will get in next cycle.

Just relax, review, review, review, don't waste a lot of time at this point on taking a lot of tests..work on your areas of weakness.

Great advice my friend!

I second @orgoman22 there are many people taking their test in August. Including me, actually most of the dates are taken, that means many people are taking the test during that time.
August is not ideal, but some of us just finished school, or others just trying to avoid gap year and August seems like a reasonable time to take the test.
Think about it this way, even if you scored high but you were late so you decided not to apply this cycle, at least next year you'll be the first person to apply in the cycle with nothing to worry about, you have a year to make your application better with extra volunteering and extra shadowing hours.

One advice though, if you can send your transcripts to adea, that would be good, start on your app, just so you can download the transcript matching form and send it to adea so you can save time coz you can't get the matching form if you didn't start the app and entered the name of the school attended.
But don't submit just yet.
Once you see your scores are getting better in practice test, submit your app, and adea already have the transcripts you have sent, so they will verify your grades with 3-4 weeks and they will wait for your dat score.
