I know there are a lot of forums out there already discussing the 2009 DAT vs the real deal but I was looking for a more recent comparison. For those of you that have recently taken the DAT, how did your scores from the 2009 practice DAT compare? Thanks everyone in advance

I felt like sciences were a bit easier on 2009 especially GC. Although the 2009 OC had a couple bogus questions. PAT was easier on 2009 except angles for me were easier on the real deal slightly.

RC for me was MUCH easier on real DAT I'm talking a 19 on 2009 vs a 28 on real (although not everyone has that much improvement most improve in general)

And I felt that QR was much harder on 2009 only because of like 5 questions I had never seen. Other than those crazy questions it was very similar.

I agree, from talking to many of our students in our classroom setting and students using our materials and studying across the country this is the general consensus!

I took the 2009 test yesterday and scored a 19 AA, 20 TS, and 23 PAT. I take the DAT in 2 days. Do you think this will be close to my real scores? And thanks for the reply buddy

Thank you Nancy as well

Hi Atom,

Your scores are right on par with other students that take the 2009 test. You have seen me post many times I do not think any test can predict exactly what you will get on the DAT, but your scores show you have a good working knowledge and if you prepared properly I think will will do quite well.

Good luck on the DAT!!!

i just took the DAT last week. I took the 2009 1 week before the real DAT. I also took the 2007 DAT and the practice OAT on the ADA website 2 weeks before my DAT. The 2007 DAT, 2009 DAT and the OAT are the most similar you will get to the real DAT...

2007 DAT is easier across the board..but the questions are very similar..just more complex on the real DAT
2009..sciences are very similar to the real DAT..chems are slightly easier on the 2009 (depends on you)..Bio is equal..
2009 PAT is easier compared to the real DAT..use bootcamp for PAT practice!
2009 QR is pretty weird ...but so is the real DAT..it is an underrated section in terms of difficulty IMO..I would say 2009 and real DAT are equal in difficulty
RC is the same for me..scored 21 on both the 2009 and the real..my reading scores are so random though..some I will get a 18..next test ill get a 22...so idk lol

overall, 2009 is slightly easier in Chem, Orgo and PAT..everything else is exactly the same...it is the BEST judge of how you will do...your 2009 is the best predictor...treat it like the real thing..and only take the DAT if you meet your goal on the 2009..

I found the 2009 GC to be easier and the OC to be somewhat on par- although I got a couple wacky questions. I think it's a pretty good indicator of where you're at. There are a lot of overlapping concepts and similarities! More so than with the 2007 one. But I guess you should expect that since tests obviously progress content-wise [emoji10]

Well I just took the DAT today and scored better than what I did on the 2009. 22 AA 22 TS and 23 PAT. But I did think it was overall a little harder than the 2009 for some reason. Thanks everyone for your inputs.

I think the grading on the actual might be easier? Idk but you killed it!
