I was on an interview for a transitional year and the program director commented that this year there was an unusually large number of ophtho applicants. Has anyone else heard this?
 
Does anyone know the actual date that Wills, BP, or NYEEI will send out invites? Some people mentioned "middle of Nov" but i'm just wondering exactly when to expect them b/c I'm debating if I should start buying flight tickets or hold off and wait to see if there's any invites from them so I don't have to go through the hassle of changing flights and paying extra fees on top of that later.
 
Any word from Mt. Sinai or NYU?

also, i had the same experience at Brown. got an invite, called pretty quickly, and was on a waitlist.. what's up with that. it feels like its a race to the phones. sucks!

you have to get a blackberry or something so that your emails are forwarded to your phone...or a secretary. i bought the special phone and recruited my husband as backup after one upset.

Hi everyone

First posting --- I have an interview at UCSF on Nov 19th.... I fly into SFO on Nov 18th with arrival at 7:15pm.

Anyone interested in sharing a rental car or van transport to the UCSF area that night? or even back to the SFO airport the next day?

What about recommendations on a hotel room or place to stay close to the UCSF campus?

Also, I'm going to UC-Davis the next day for an interview -- perhaps someone has the same plans?

Book Southwest!!! They have no penalty fees for itinerary changes... in fact, my changed flight was cheaper than the one I bought previously so they actually gave me a credit of $12.50! 😱 I'm booking all my flights now on Southwest if I can so I'm free to modify my plans (already came in handy again).

I think there's more than just BP, Wills, and NYEEI... what about a lot of the nyc schools? Mt Sinai? Albert Einstein? Northshore LIJ? SLR? Also outside of NYC, UMDNJ and GW?? Please do share if you've heard from any of these programs!

Hi peeps. I have an interview on 12/8 at 3:15pm and was wondering if anyone with a time earlier that day might be able to switch (trying to fly out cross country). even just an hr earlier would be a huge help!! thanks!

ps. personally walked into the vanderbilt ophtho residency office. they are "a little behind" this year. final meeting was supposed to be today, and they intend to notify "soon," she says ... "hopefully by the end of the week"
