2009 Sample DAT test

i ordered the sample exam off the ADA website.
has anyone taken this as practice before taking the real exam?
if so, how representative did you think it was of the real thing?

the free sample exam seems like a joke compared to this one i purchased, especially bio which seems a lot more detailed..
what does everything think?

The paid one is much better in terms of difficulties, but it has tons of errors in it. I didn't know if it represented the real test very well because there were too much errors in it for me to evaluate my score.

Agreed. I bought it, too, and it seemed like it was just thrown together and not as "official" as they make it seem. But the questions are tougher than Kaplan's, so it's a good indication of what to go back and review to further prepare for the real DAT

The 2009 is considered to be a pretty good predictor of scores, but it's just that, a predictor. So even if you score very well or very low just be confident on test day and trust yourself. I think my scores on the 09 (took it 2 days before exam) were
BIO/GC/OC/RC/QR/PAT
19/ 21/ 17/ 20/ 16/ 22

My real DAT scores were:
19/18/23/25/19/24.

On the real DAT I got a very hard version for GC which explains the lower score. Other than that I scored generally higher on each section. I have read logs on here though where some people ace the 2009 and don't do as well on real DAT and versions where someone bombs the 09 but kills the actual. It all depends, so just be ready for anything. Good Luck!

I believe so. Its 37 for online one, and 27 for hard copy.

Is the 2009 DAT Sample Test ( http://www.predent.org.vt.edu/admissions/dat-sample-test-2009.pdf ) a different exam than the 2009 Test purchased through the ADA?

Although sharing documents on this forum help the students gain resources towards studying for the DAT. I do believe these resources should be free to begin with. Many of the students who took the 2009 DAT paid for the sample exam and it would be unfair and possibly a violation to upload a free copy on SDN.
