I wonder if there's anyone at any school that runs a 50 sec 400m? I doubt it...my school's gonna win.

I ran a 56-57 last time I ran it... that was a few year ago when I was still playing college basketball.

Unfortunately, the dental olympics doesn't have track and field... or they didn't last year at least. It is too bad they don't... I imagine they wouldn't have too many people who could run a 50 sec 400m or long jump 18-19 feet (not that I could do that anymore) but it would still be worth a shot 🙂

San Antonio did sweep in basketball though last year. Houston won it... in a way it is kinda set up to where the school that is hosting it wins the whole thing... but it is still a ton of fun!

When I was at my Houston interview, the students would not shut up about winning the dental olympics. LOL Apparently, they have not won it in a LONG time and were very proud of their recent accomplishment. Likewise, I was swimmer in college and many times during my Houston interview I felt like I was being recruited to swim there. LOL Not kidding.

LOL, I wouldn't doubt it. We didn't even have any swimmers compete last spring.

you have a good chance don't worry, read TMDSAS 2008, you will see lots of people accepted post Dec1, same for Houston.

so now people who had pre dec 1 interview have same chance as those of who have post dec 1 interview???????

No, that is not what is being said. There cannot be the same chance because there are less slots available after the 1st, so it is common sense to know that the chances decrease after people have received their letters of acceptance. But, you still have a chance after Dec 1st otherwise schools would no longer interview people once they send ot all of its acceptances. Schools know there are only so many qualified applicants they can fit in before Dec 1st and they know some great candidates will send their applcations in later than most. So, they hold interviews in hopes of finding more excellent candidates. So, as long as a person has competative stats, there are seats still availabe. It is not the end of the world for this cycle. PLenty of seats will be given out and plenty of people will reject seats at one or more schools leaving room for more acceptances coming from schools. there is hope yet!

check Tmdsas, 2008, you will find out what i am saying, for example people had interview Dec 17 and got their acceptance in Feb. what I am trying to say is, still there is chance for acceptance at least for Houston and san Antonio.

yes, I know what you are saying ( I am pulling my hair with these stupid lipid biosynthesis pathways 😱 ) but the worse is i couldn't study last few days because I had my finals in cell molecullar bio and cell NSC yesterday. 🙁

The amino acid biosynthesis was alot harder than the lipid pathways. All those damn little diagrams...thank God finals are almost over. Good luck everyone

I don't know if anyone can answer this question, but how often should we expect to see acceptances coming from Houston? Do they send them out like once or twice a month, or every week?

Amen to that. Amino acids are a b****. Honestly, I didn't even try to memorize them all. Pure stupidity; I just memorized the ones I thought he was most likely to put on the test and said screw the rest.

I just don't understand why the heck we have to memorize them all? I mean, lots of this stuff we are learning we can use later in life, but to have to know the mechanism and synthesis of arginine and aspartate is ridiculous, not to mention the 18 others.

Might want to reconsider that Jay. My dentist said when she was taking the WREB, an examiner came up and asked her to draw the structure of an amino acid. Haha.

That's just dumb considering you don't have biochem again after you pass part 1 boards.

actualy I asked same question from my professor. He responded" for sure few months after the class you are going to forget most of the details. but biochemistry is one of the courses that Dental and medical schools use as an indicator. If you can handle that it is very possible you can handle heavy loaded courses in dental and medical school".

I am done. wrapped up Biochem 1 pretty well 🙂

now to make my decision: H or SA 😱

Well, I say SA, aroon, but it's your decision, of course. I'm looking forward to being in San Antonio and the Hill Country.

Hey, I just looked at your predents profile. I was at the 9/22 interview, too, I think.

Congratulations to everyone on their acceptances! I'll see some of you in July!

Is anyone interviewing in January at Houston? If so, have they contacted you yet? I guess I am getting a little impatient waiting to get my interview scheduled...😱

I just withdrew my Houston acceptance. Good luck to everyone who still has to interview there!

Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Damn so late, interview SA Jan 12, email around 3 PM. last year I had it Dec
3th, But I am happy, late better than never. 🙂
