do you get called if you're waitlisted?.
nope, only if you are accepted.
also, the waitlists come in large envelopes. so, if you don't get a call and you get a large envelope, it's most likely a waitlist.
I agree! All of the questions were expected, like why medicine and why Creighton. The interview was super relaxed.... when they say they are aiming to make it a stress-free day they aren't kidding. Just relax and be yourself, you'll be great! Good luck!
Does anyone know when they might be sending out the next wave of interviews? I've been complete since August 13th. I called in 2-3 weeks ago, and was told they reviewed my file and will review again at some point.
Have any Oct. 1st interviewees heard from Creighton yet?

I called them yesterday, and I was told no decision has been made. The lady said that maybe I should call back in a week or so.
I was complete about 8/13, so I called the admissions office today. They woman on the other end was very kind, and when I asked her for an update she said, "Well, you were complete on August 13th. You would think you would have heard something by now, so I'm guessing they're waiting on something. We do have an open door policy where you can speak to one of our admissions staff regarding your application..."
I was directed to the voice mail of one of the staff there, and he should be calling me back any minute (she said he would get back to me this afternoon). In any case, if you were complete in mid-August, you are not alone, and apparently decisions have not been made on everyone. Hopefully I can sneak an interview through this in some way!

ah did they say if they're going to interview people who were complete around July/August still at a later date? i assume they passed early completed applicants by now.

What were the available interview dates left?
The only dates I saw were this Friday (11/19) and then December 3rd and 4th and December 11th.

samuraiR, I am assuming that was directed toward me, so I will kill two birds with one stone:
The admissions counselor called me back later that day, and I had a short conversation with him regarding their policies. It seems they hold on to all applications unless they offer an interview or reject you, recycling your application through the interview invite committee until they decide one way or the other or have all the spots filled. That said, the admissions counselor told me my application was still being re-reviewed, but I had not been rejected. He encouraged me to send an email update to the admissions committee with any updates, and from talking to other individuals, it sounds like this is actually recommended, rather than simply encouraged. It sounds like they like to hear from applicants throughout the process regarding their current activities.
So this is good news for all applicants, really!
In any case, I sent my update letter yesterday, so hopefully that will nudge them!

I called on Tuesday and asked if they had made decisions for the Oct. 1 interviewees and that's when I was told I was on the alternate list. They said the letter went out Tuesday morning so I guess they should be arriving soon.

Good luck to both you and slwhite to get off that waitlist! Like people said earlier, updates and letters of interest (not necessarily letters of intent, just something saying how well you'd fit in and what you liked) could work wonders!
I feel your anguish, PinkNoise. I taught many students as a master's student and teaching assistant who are now medical students around the country. Redemption will come!

I don't think it's normal to stop interviews before even February... Maybe I'm mistaken, but of the schools I've interviewed and from information from other schools, it seems most will interview students through at least January or February... Maybe I'm wrong, haha.
Same here! I've been complete since the end of July but I also sent an update letter last month. Has anyone had any luck after sending an update letter? Would it be awkward if I called the office to ask what's up? If anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated!! Thank you 🙂
I surely hope this esteemed institution is still planning on interviewing a few more applicants. Also, I do believe Creighton would benefit by inserting a Good Ole Southern boy such as myself. I am rather rare as a Deep South conversion Catholic. Maybe that'll help.
And here I am hoping that they are sincere about their religious tolerance talk - so that this shouting pentecostal can get in.
Catholic schools are definitely religiously tolerant. They're more concerned with having people who will represent them well and do good works in the community than what your specific denomination or creed is. I went to a Catholic school that had Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, etc..
They want someone who is a leader and dedicated to service.

They really are. I spoke about my father being Muslim in my application, and was accepted. It seems like a great school.

Has anyone from 10/30 heard any news....good or bad?
I interviewed that day, too. I have not heard anything good or bad. I called the admissions office a few weeks ago, and they said that when they start doing Saturday interviews the process starts getting back-logged. So, I'm not sure when we may hear from them? I hope it's before Christmas!
Called this morning and she said we should hear in about a week and a half. An acceptance would be a very nice early Christmas present. I was a little worried when I saw that a 10/29 interview had received a phone call and I hadn't. Best of luck.
Anyone hear anything from Creighton lately? This thread has been pretty quiet - anyone know if any interview invites have gone out lately?
My application was complete in October and I hadn't heard anything from them since then.. so I gave them a call last week.
They said their interview invitations for January,Feb, March have NOT yet gone out, and they planned on sending them out soon..... so there is still hope!

I was a Nov 6 interviewee as well. I remember being told by admissions we should hear back within 6-8 weeks. This next week is week 6 so maybe anytime now until the first week of January is fair game? Especially since there was an SDNer, nwmd22, who interviewed on 10/29 and was accepted on 12/3.
