Hi Guys,

I just recently created an account on here so I don't really know how this works. But I just wanted to ease your minds (hopefully) by saying that I called the office today and they said that all acceptance letters have been postmarked.

Also, the person at the office said that emails should be out by latest, Thursday.

Lastly, I am almost 100% certain that Duke does not do phone calls for MD applicants so you don't have to nervously sit by your phone.

I hope this helps. =)

I'm not sure whether this makes me MORE nervous, or less...I sort of liked the whole surprise factor...not that I have any miraculous expectations...but here's hoping for a pipe-dream!

Thanks for the effort. It makes me feel better that I know I shall know my fate by the week's end. There's no point dragging it any further. Best of luck to everyone

Well, there will still be the surprise factor of "SURPRISE! You got in!" or "SURPRISE! You're rejected!" or perhaps most annoying, "SURPRISE! We like you but not enough to accept you. You're waitlisted!"

Also....did they say "postmarked" or "sent" today? Postmarked does not necessarily mean they put them in the mail.....
 
Based on what's been said, I think we can all expect to get a letter/email by the end of the week.

So who else is kind of dreading checking their emails in the morning? I keep waffling between thinking the admissions office would send out emails shortly after sending out accepetences (figure, people in NC will probably get mail tomorrow) and waiting a few days so those of us out west get our packets.

I've been having really silly dreams about getting in or getting rejected. My subconscious is all over the place! 😛
 
Most if not all letters were mailed yesterday. I am a student here.
 
My bet: People receive letters tomorrow. Email goes out Thursday afternoon.

*Maybe a few people will get letters today?
 
The number of posts in this thread, as of the last one, was 666. I decided this could not stay for too longer lest it curse everyone on here :S.....good luck we should all here something soon enough!

C'mon you north carolinians have to get acceptance letters today or it means people out west will have to wait 'til Thursday to hear😱
 
haha. I'm just as anxious as you guys are. I and a few friends live close to Duke campus, but our mail doesn't come until 4:30pm eastern time. So hopefully, between the few of us, one of us was accepted so there is at least some news to share then.

Got the envelope today (live ~ 30 minutes outside of Durham)!!

Your status says you're an MD/PhD student, so didn't you already know you were admitted? Was your acceptance letter for the MD/PhD program or just the MD program?

Yes, i got a call from the mstp in feb but had to wait for the envelope from the medschool. Mstp or not, I thought it would still be helpful for other people to know that they are in their way...
 
acceptance email just now (2:30 central). holy cow. best day yet.

Acceptance e-mail here as well, though doesn't mention PCLT. Anybody who interviewed for PCLT hear anything about that specifically?

i live in the midwest. the email said you may receive this before your letter, but congrats. so snail mail is on the way. fingers crossed for all you guys!
 
Accepted also - crazy few days...FYI second look weekend is April 9
 
I live 7.28 miles from Duke.
I received a PHONE CALL on Sunday from a medical student congratulating me of my acceptance. But I wasn't sure until 30 mins ago when I received my acceptance package. I also received an email from Duke.

Good luck to all those waiting.
 
I wonder if this means those of us without an acceptance email are done for? 🙁

Congrats to all those accepted! Wish it could've been me too, but I guess the cards fall how they do. Looks like I'll be applying again in a few months, unless my Wake waitlist pulls through. 🙁

Looks like we're on death row for the next few days. We know it's coming, but we have to wait in agony. Unless the warden calls! 😀
